Status: offline 		Does oestrogen change the shape of one's knees? I've sometimes wondered about that. My own knees would let me down any time I were to try to pass as female. Not that I have any intention (at time of writing) of trying, mind you ... but, well, you know.

I did a google search on your question and I came away with a few red flags. Prostate cancer seems to show a relationship to increased estrogen levels in some cases. Of course, you never know which is the true causal relationship; which is the horse and which is the cart?

Secondly, a great deal of estrogen research is done on mammalian models due to ethical concerns. However, much is also done on post menopausal women undergoing Estrogen Replacement Treatment. Amazingly, the research in this area is still pretty rudimentary when it comes to actual molecular mechanisms and receptor sites. There is still a lot of uncertain talk about osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Perhaps some of the ladies on this board can contribute from personal experience.

I personally would not use estrogen for any reason.

Cosmetically. They're knees - they do their job, but that's it. They're just 'men's knees' - knobbly. The knees of the Thais pictured here, though - utterly 'feminine', in my view. Whatever difference there is might be down to height, bone-density or something else.)

Anecdote time, just because:

I met a man at a BDSM venue once who told me that his wife had surreptitiously fed him oestrogen (that she'd been prescribed by the doc) for some months before he'd finally found out what was happening. The first obvious sign was his growing breasts - at first, the doc thought it would 'just go away'. After some while they'd got too big for that to be plausible.

His wife admitted it to him when he interrogated her. He didn't press charges, though - he said he found it a fascinating experience. The oestrogen had caused very strong mood swings - these, though, he thought were 'educational'. Myself, I think I'd stick with LSD.

It's very common for many Asian men to have legs and knees like that, naturally born. Those legs look like my brothers. They are very slim and slender.

Anecdotally, I have read warnings that men should not ingest tofu due to the high estrogen concentration. I have not read the whole article linked below but beware of ingesting soy.

Of course, most medicines have side effects.

And when you consume soy protein, you’re actually courting the Mr. Hyde side of two natural drugs: genistein and daidzein. Both act so similarly to estrogen that they’re known as phytoestrogens (plant-produced estrogens).

Soybeans couldn’t care less about human sex characteristics—genistein and daidzein may have evolved to act as chemical defenses against fungi and grazing animals. (They aren't very effective deterrents, apparently, since soy meal is widely used to feed livestock.)

But when humans consume these compounds in high enough quantities, they may experience gender-bending nightmares like James Price’s.
