Just a weird discussion thing that I happened to notice yesterday. Did anybody else catch that all of the forums have been set to display topics only from a certain time period? Some are now set to display topics from the last 30 days, like Health and Safety. It seems the majority of the forums are set to 90 days. The General section is set to 365 days. People can change the setting on any given forum to up to 365 days, but you have to do it manually. Longer term forum posters know that all of the forums didn't used to be set this way. At one point, they only did it for the Upcoming events section. (Made sense. After a certain time period, unless a poster made a comment because a thing was a recurring event, the event was over and wasn't considered 'upcoming' anymore.) I think the new chatroom forum started out with a time limit, but I couldn't say for certain. It sounds bad. My immediate question was what about those really old, cool threads? The stuff that was awesome? Would threads like "tap, tap, tap" be gone forever? Nope. If a person knows what they are looking for, the search feature allows a person to find them. Is anybody else curious about this? Wondering why? The site dollars at work, folks.
