The Arm was the short person in the black lodge... the one who danced around to the funky jazz music. I can't remember exactly where I heard that, either the show or the movie... but I think it was the show. I was mostly talking about people who might want to go into it without knowing any of the details about the new episodes. Anyways, I thought it was absolutely brilliant. I'm a huge Lynch fan, especially of the later, much more 'out there' stuff, and he has already set this up to be a masterpiece. I enjoyed absolutely everything about it... it feels like the Mulholland Drive version of Twin Peaks. That scene in the 'glass box room' was truly horrifying. The biggest shock to me was how it didn't feel quite as Twin Peaksy as the first 2 seasons. There wasn't a lot of warmth, there was sex and profanity, and there were so many long takes that gave it a much artier feel than the TV show ever had... probably because there were so many different locations and so many new characters. Seeing brightly lit New York city in a Twin Peaks episode was really jarring... it is no longer about the town and its people and seems to be more about the supernatural aspects of it all. And seeing how old everyone is now was weird. Lynch is big on transcendental meditation, which probably explains why he has gotten more creative as he ages... well, the fact that he also gets to do whatever he wants probably also helps. I am already convinced that this is going to be the greatest thing that has ever been on TV.
