That director was a funny guy (and too, the script writers). None of this involved 'great' acting, but I've always appreciated good effort to purposeful acting well executed.

Meaning to say, I only appreciated the various finer points alluded to above later in life, after some years in service to live shows, including plays and musicals. At the time, I was a tiny lad and just watched agog.
