Hi all, I hope this is in the right area, forgive me if not. I am planning to go to Bangkok and be surgically castrated. I have wanted this for a long time, but it's only now it's becoming real for me. I'd like to chat to men who will help, encourage and assist me (in terms of making sure I do this, I have enough money!).

Your best bet is to ask feminist men. Actually, there are a couple in here who have done the same. Ask peonforher and longwayhome

Oh my gosh rm, you are a wag! I almost sprung a rib there I was laughing so much.

Anyway to the OP, unless you are just an rm sock, popping up to let him make a hilarious joke, I just hope that you are doing this for the right reasons and will be happy with the life-changing results. I am assuming that you are travelling to Bangkok because no-one is Australia will perform this surgery for ethical reasons. Given that you can arrange life changing surgeries such as gender reassignment surgery as long as you can demonstrate the proper psychological preparation, not being able to have the surgery at home should at least give you pause for thought.

Also not sure that you should be having major surgery in a foreign country without support or proper Thai medical insurance. The cost of the surgery is not your only worry and I doubt that standard travel insurance will cover the possible complications of surgical castration.

If you are looking for validation for such a surgery on a message board you have only recently joined, you are looking in the wrong place.

OP - just as a matter of minor interest - have you talked to a urologist about what you are planning, as in, what will happen to your body after this? I would think due diligence would suggest this might not be a bad idea.

It'd mess up your endocrine balance something rotten. That said: the Sklotsky's and the Chinese eunuchs (who existed irl history as well as being the bad guys in a lot of Shaw brothers chop sockies) both appear to have had decent lifespans. I'd hope that nobody's going to do something like this without a little research first, after all.
(I'm also hoping this is one of the fantasy posts rather than something somebody's actually doing, though? And we'd probably trashed his fun with that as soon as the aussie pussy posted the first reply in this thread...)

The "due diligence" angle was the one I was going with, including the OP being sure of his motivations for doing something so irreversible.

I hope, if he really intends to go through with this, that his fantasy head is not being ruled by his little head for obvious reasons. I also hope that this is something he has good reason to do for himself and that he doesn't dream of a Domme somewhere being really pleased/excited about the outcome, however sincerely she believes in it.

That said, he will have to live with the consequences if he goes through with it - his money, his body, his life and all that. It just doesn't sound like he is in the right place psychologically if he is really looking for "help, encouragement and assistance" in his words "to make sure he does this" on the Boards. Sounds like a man trying to find support to dispel doubts.

One would hope he could find the help he needs closer to home. If he was seeking gender reassignment, there would routes for "due diligence", support, preparation and aftercare, with the realistic hope of a positive outcome. This seems much more like a leap in the dark.

Still not entirely convinced though that our chains aren't being well and truly yanked by a sock or a troll.

Thanks everyone for your posts! I have indeed done some 'due diligence' along with research on likely endocrine disruption. Theres a lot of opinion outbthere (no surprise), but perhaps I'll keep you posted as I go down this path.

There's that One Night In Bangkok song from Chess? (Released as a single by Murray Head, but very obviously written by ABBA...)

Good luck with it, subCairns, but as everybody else has said (and as I'm sure everybody you know has been saying as soon as you first mentioned this) make sure you're covered for any disasters or complications.
(That you're asking for affirmation from strangers on the internet is maybe a bit worrying, though?)

It is ridiculous you would pay airline fees, risk getting sick in a foreign country, as well as pay for SURGERY to have this done when you could do it cheaply and safely at home with an ELASTRATOR you can get off ebay for under $30. Farmers do this every spring to male lambs and baby goats. It's a simple process. The elastrator stretches a thick rubber ring, the testicles are passed through the ring and the elastrator released, snapping the rubber ring in place around the base of the testicles. This cuts off circulation and eventually the undesired tissues turn black, shrivel up, and drop off. The scar heals over and the job is done.

Hard to tell whose actually serious, so I looked up elastration from my knowitall friend Wiki
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elastration

Dr. Wiki said the tool is variously called an "Emasculatome", "Burdizzo", or "Richey Nipper" and that "There is some evidence that elastration is more painful if carried out on older animals" although they don't say what it's more painful than.

I am not quite sure where you would get a Unicorn horn from. Would a Narwhal do? Although you may develop occasional hunger pangs for sardines.

The sardines aren't the worst of it: you'd also develop a taste for jazz.

That is actually a really good song, and catchy. I would imagine getting your knackers chopped of to be not so good, nor would you be in any fit state to catchy them. Do they numb up the area first do you think, say with bite of a rattle snake or a pint of refreshing snakebite? I should imagine employment opportunities would be fairly limited.

I suspect the OP is a bit old to become a castrato as they needed to be fixed before their voice breaks for that.
(Fun fact: the distinctive feature of a castrato voice is less down to the vocal range -which female singers can cover quite handily-, but down to the fact that some hormone that has to do with bone formation isn't released at puberty allowing a massive increase in lung capacity because the ribcage is more flexible and can be expanded.)

A Castrato is in the Code Book too. Tunes eh!

I didn't know that. They recorded many of the castratos on wax cylinders, I think. I did stumble across this one whilst raking about for that clip. Good rotter was Gary Oldman.
