Or 'no shit Sherlock, what gave you the first clue?"

I like natgeo, discovery channel and Smithsonian channel as my primary tv watching, however, some of the narration makes you wonder about the guys writing the dialogue.

"Nothing quite inspires terror like the great white shark."

Seriously?

Actually, nothing inspires terror at a beach like someone yelling "SHARK!"

Or there was a Natgeo special about killer crocs in the Philippines.

"A large adult salt water crocodile will attack anything from cattle to humans."

Okay, that goes without saying, you are narrarating a special about a man eating super croc roaming one of the Philippine islands. Just about everyone on the planet has seen "Crocodile Dundee" and we occasionally seen news stories about people being attacked by alligators in the states, so yeah, if a 10 foot alligator will attack a person, a freaking 20 foot croc is not going to be a vegan....

Or take this wonderful tidbit, "Jelly fish stings can be the most painful...."

Or how about this one "Four wheel drive can help with traction on snow, but stopping is problematic when driving fast on snow slick roads"

Seriously?

Maybe they were building up to a big reveal that you can put chains on your tyres to improve traction in the snow?

What always makes me shake my head is the sheer number of idiots who buy a four wheel drive pick up or SUV and think that they can now drive 70 mph on snowy roads, while totally forgetting that cars have always had four wheel brakes and have never stopped well in snow. Or that they think ABS brakes makes it okay to go fast, when ABS actually lengthens stopping distance on slick roads. So many times I have been out driving on a snow-covered road, and some 4WD pickup will zoom past me doing 70 or more, and just a mile or two down the road it will be overturned in the ditch. Sometimes all you can see is fresh tracks going off the road into some woods.
