1) What the hell is so difficult with the definitions of 'shortly,' 'in a minute,' and "I just need five minutes' when it comes to women?

I mean shortly means "in a short time, soon" so where in the hell do women come up with "I will be there shortly" and take 3 hours?
In a minute means sixty seconds, or five minutes at the outside, not twenty.
And if you ever hear the words, "I just need five minutes" come out of the mouth of a woman, find a ball game to watch, or re read "War and Peace."

2) Why do dogs go in circles 3 or more times before laying down? Nothing is going to change by circling, well except when vultures do it.

3) Why do people not realize that when a coffee addict answers, "How is your day so far?" with "I have only had one cup of coffee." that the continued perkiness could lead to physical harm? (actually this should apply to any coffee drinker.)

4) Why do doctors and nurses always ask, "How are we doing?"
At least one person in that group must not be doing too well or they would not be in the presence of a doctor or nurse.

5) Has anyone else ever wanted to punch a doctor in the noise when they do something and ask, "Does this hurt?"
Hell if you are screaming or damn near pass out from pain when they do whatever this is, why the hell do they need to ask anyway?

6) Has anyone else ever looked at a doctor or nurse who told you "this will only hurt a bit" and flatly told them they lied?

7) Who in the hell came up with the 'Meat and Poultry' title for a grocery store cooler section, it is all flesh from something, therefore it is all 'meat' aint it?

8) If pants, glasses, boxers, shorts, etc are pairs, why not bras? or shirts?

9) Why in the hell would anyone want a steak so over cooked it is as hard as shoe leather? By the time you get to 'well done' there is no nutritional value in the meat.

10) When you are told to 'hang on' what the hell are you supposed to hang on to? And if the place you are is perfectly stable with no chance of a radical horizontal or vertical shift in orientation or you are not moving and therefore no subject to a radical change in direction, why the hell do you need to hang on in the first place?

Ooh ooh, I can answer #2 and #9.
Dogs circling before lying down is a holdover from before they were domesticated and they lived in a more predatory environment.
The circling allowed them to scan the area thoroughly to be sure it was clear of adversaries, kind of like a radar sweep. Early dogs who adapted this behavior survived when others didn't so it became a handed down survival trait.
As for thoroughly cooked steaks, it's because meat that is undercooked can lead to cancer.
This has its foundation in how antibodies are created and templated by the immune system.
Undercooked meat can be very similar to human tissue and can cause antibody drift until the antibodies begin to attack the human host in a way that results in cancer. That's a massive simplification of how it was explained to me by an oncologist years ago, but you probably don't want to read for hours to get the full explanation.

Your oncologist was talking shear bullshit. You do know that Humans are what we are because we ate meat, and animals fats, when other primates didn't, don't you? And that we did this long before we discovered FIRE and cooking the damn stuff. We have special enzymes that other mammals don't have that allow us to break down meat, and actually the only thing you are at risk of from eating meat is food poisoning from under cooked poultry, or meat that has had its integrity destabilised, such as with burgers/sausages, so that bacteria are introduced into the middle and not killed during the cooking process. You are at more risk of catching a parasite than you are of getting cancer through eating meat.

It's as much bullshit as the "Saturated fats cause heart disease." crap that some fossils are still insistent on trotting out.

1) Not all of us women are created the same, and so when I say I need a short amount of time, that's exactly what I need.

3) Due to choices beyond my control I've had to learn to live without caffeine, but I do take great strides to note those around me that need hefty doses, and warn people that there are still risks involved on my part as I don't get mine.

4) "We" are not doing anything right now, and in general I can only speak for myself at this present time as I'm sick. This means my oracle abilities are down, so I can't tell you how you are doing. Try me when I'm feeling better, and no I can't tell you the winning lotto numbers. That's not how this works.

5) More than once, and also on behalf of my son. In fact MommaBear wants to hurt people all the more when they hurt the Cub with stupidity.

6) Yes.

9) I have no idea about this one, other than idiots that believe the crap they are told by other idiots, thus perpetuating nonsense. Red meat is perfectly fine to eat raw when fresh, so it makes no sense to destroy what it great about it by over cooking it. I've been eating mine rare since I was a child, I follow a medium level protein, relatively high fat diet, and I've just had the best health work up come through that I've had in years.

10) As a trainer of horses, most particularly rehab horses, the question I've been asked the most is "How the hell did you stay on that?". Well, as Humans our natural instinct, when in fear of falling, is to grip and hold on, but if you do that on a horse you're going to fall off. I spent years as a kid riding bare back listening to adults telling me to hold on tight with bronking twat bag ponies, and when I did I fell off. When I just sat there and did my thing of ignoring them, I stayed on. This doesn't really answer your question as such, but it's an answer, none the less.

Is there anything that doesn't cause cancer at this point?
I keep waiting for the announcement that Gary Gygax would have made his century if polyhedrons didn't cause cancer...

I have it on good authority that death does not cause cancer, however it has some undesirable side effects.

Meat and poultry are to be cooked to an internal temp of 140 degrees, and you can cook a blood rare steak to that temp.

Originally pantaloons, similar to bloomers, were two separate pieces. They were tied together. So you needed a pair of them.

Chicken is supposed to be cooked to an internal temp of 165F.

That sounds suspiciously like one of those urban myths things: surely the invention of the box was what distinguished strides from stockings?

If you look at women's clothing from the 1700's, they were in two pieces. The strings that tied them together were referred to as tapes.

As to why? Probably because the clothing was so difficult that you required a ladies maid to dress and undress you.

Well, yes, but ladies didn't wear trews, pantaloons or culottes back then. Those tight calf length shorts that chaps wore in the 18th century seem to have been tailored in one piece.

They've actually put legislation in place stopping telephonist staff from telling anybody that since Ian Curtis was asked to "hang on" by the Samaritans back in 1980...

As opposed to "Seafood"; also a section in the supermarket.

Hope I helped.
