groupies is an excuse, he never mentioned groupies at all, and by him I mean trump

That is the gist of what he was saying in the conversation recorded on the bus that was edited and used to try and create a shit storm during the 2016 election campaign. Rude, crude, but noting more heinous than you would hear in any jockstrap clique. Men talk about women among themselves. Women talk about men among themselves. Either type of conversation would set off the Society of the Perpetually Offended if made a public spectacle.

yes so you name them groupies, just to dismiss them.
its part of the problem.

It is funny about Trump because he didn't do it and some people think an accusation is hilarious. .

. . What planet are you talking about??
https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-accuser-demands-release-documents-190135160.html
10 out women detailing uninvited sexual assault, So Far, none groupies. It will be interesting to see all the reports when the court enforces the discovery subpoena. And all the women who come forward in the new atmosphere of actually blaming the perp, not the victim.
Weinstein just picked the wrong career. If he'd become a Republican, he might have really gotten somewhere. He certainly has enough qualifications.

ANY situation can be effectively joked about. Just that some comedians are funnier than others. Humor often is our last defense against unbearable pain, or outrageous fate.

Gloria Allred... Yahoo "News" [:D]

Got anything substantive

Why making jokes about Trump alleged sexual assault on women is funny and every late night show host and comedians won't stop using that as a gag!

Whereas James Corden jokes about Harvey's sexual assault is considered offensive?

What is the logic?

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/10/15/entertainment/james-corden-apology-harvey-weinstein/index.html

Why is it only funny when it's about Trump?

Some media explained that it is the timing and too close to the incident.

But with Trump "grab the pussy" comments, it was also close to incident, the timing. And there were plenty more jokes alluding to him lusting after his daughter too. Which people thought was funny and laughed along.

Greta, the reason is that the leftists in Hollywood have been moralizing against the right for decade while this sort of thing was an open secret. There is a saying, "People in glass house shouldn't throw stones." The morally superior crowd has just found they live in a glass house and they don't like it. But, don't worry, they'll forget this in a few weeks and be back to business as usual.

Yep.

the "perpetually offended" use slurs because they wont believe a woman has been assaulted, raped groped or "forced" by a man, unless its a dem.

Nope. Watch the routine on YouTube. It wasn't funny.
Then watch SNL's Weekend Update. Better material, cringe worthy, but still funny.

Just like not every joke about Trump is actually funny.

I greatly support the (hashtag) #MeToo movement. That's why it's *not* funny. It's the experience of so many people, and how is this comical to people???

I can't honestly say, Lady P...you might want to ask Colbert and Kimmel and their audiences why it's funny when the jokes are directed at the current president but not when directed at the head of a production company.

I think if you have to overanalyze a joke or a comedy routine or sketch in order to explain it to someone, they'll never get it anyway. Much less when trying to compare the nuances between two or more acts discussing the same material, but one being funny and the others not, when the person you're dealing with refuses to watch any of them.

Comedians tackle the hard subjects precisely because so many people have experienced it. Otherwise, nobody would get the jokes.

Nope. I'm on the other side. And I will ALWAYS be on the other side.

I understand victims because I was a victim. Me. In the first person sense. So, you'll have to excuse me that I don't think rape is funny.

Feel free to tell me all about how 'comedians' tackle the hard subjects.

You're full of sh^t, and you should know better.

I've got to say, though: sometimes it works better to ridicule an evil thing. Me, I've noticed, over the years, that goosestepping neonazis can stand any amount of hatred thrown at them. But taking the piss out out of them - they hate that more than anything. They don't mind looking evil - in fact, they often revel in it; on the other hand, they *really* don't like looking ridiculous.

Works for Trump and his gormless supporters, anyway, I think. For Weinstein ... I don't know. I tend to think, actually, that this 'MeToo' thing is beginning to have a clout of a level that I've not seen before. I've heard blokes say, 'Really? Is it really that bad?' I mean - *so many* damned women are saying it. It's quite a remarkable thing, actually.

I give up. It's funny. Rape/sexual assault is so funny that people should p^ss out their ears.

We should make jokes about it. Laugh at funerals.

I remember asking my mother, as a kid, why we used to call the Nazi flying bombs 'doodlebugs'. She said, 'Because they were so horrible - we had to take make them look silly'.

Well, I don't know how well that applies here - but humour can work like a kick in the bollocks, correctly used, anyway. Trump certainly experiences that, poor chap, on a daily basis.

First of all, you don't know me, or my life, and I don't owe that to you. But if you want to stay ignorant, have the fuck at it.

Keep thinking that boys don't get molested.
Men don't get raped.
Males can't be sexually harassed in the workplace, or school.

Own that victim tag, cuz it works for you. I didn't like it worth a damn.

And I don't even know where to start on comedians. Richard Pryor? George Carlin? Roseanne? Ellen DeGeneres coming out? Chris Rock? Harvey Fierstein? Yeah, no 'hard subjects' there.
