Which brings me to ask the following questions:
1) Why build a cabin below the mean high water mark of flood waters from the river you built your house next to?
2) Why would anyone think that an uninsulated large storage shed would prove adequate shelter in -2 degree snow storms?
3) Why build a chicken pen without some sort of roof or wire covering to prevent predation from hawks etc when the flying hawks were the reason you bought the damn property in the first place?
4) Who thinks that bare electrical wiring inside a dwelling is a good idea?
5) Why plan on hunting for meat when you cant even shoot a damn rifle and have no clue as to how to dress the animal once you kill it, did you think that MacDonald's burgers roam wild or something?
6) In a climate that gets 88 inches of rain a year, plus snow, why would anyone think that canvas will not start to mildew and mold?
7) why would anyone think that 3/8 inch plywood would keep 800 pound bears away from their meat supply?
7B) who told you that a .22 would stop, deter or otherwise do anything but piss off a 800 bear?
8) if your only water source is a 500 foot deep well with a hand pump, why plant a 6 acre garden?
9) who in their right mind believes that cheap chicken wire will keep a determined coyote from getting to and eating your goats? or chickens? or pigs?
10) What form of insanity brings people who have lived all their lives in a city, with the only food gathering experience being grabbing fast food or going to the grocery store, with zero hunting skills, to think they can live off grid from the land and survive?
And that does not even address the idea that a 5 gallon bucket is a good bathroom, or the famous 'pick a tree' idea (especially in areas frequented by 800 pound omnivores or large cougars.)
I can only hope that the show is a 'staged reality' series and there are not actually people that fucking stupid.
