That wasn't the point I was making with that and I'm not in the mood for a few rounds of "Move the Goal Posts" right now so ... pass

I've mentioned on these boards before about the dangers/ineffectiveness of social engineering. People can't be forced to think differently. Sure, the government can pass laws to make people behave differently, but that isn't really the same thing.

I have tried it with you. You ask a question or make a point, asking me to "answer". I do and you change the topic. Not into it, today.

I will discuss what I wish to discuss with whom I wish to discuss it at MY whim; not your'n.

On top of that, what I typed was "piggy-backing" on something someone else typed. I quoted it. It's called "reading for comprehension". You should try that, some time.

P.S. I typed it for you: It's "goaL posts"; not "gold posts"

It's more than race. Our social circles are often made up of people similar to us in many regards, unless we purposefully create or throw ourselves into diverse groups.

Most of us look for friends that we have things in common with, that we can relate to, and that can relate to us. People that don't make us feel weird.

I agree, and it often takes a bit of "conscious" effort to go beyond our comfort zone.

All this says to me is most people of all races would rather be friends with those in their own race. Nothing to see here.

I've always love having friends of all different races since a kid. Probably because I am always very curious and filled with questions for people of different culture and religious groups from me. And it's pretty easy to be friends when you are curious or eventually when you build up knowledge about their culture.

So even Indians, there is Sikh, Hindu and Christians. There is South Indian and North Indian. They are all different culture.

But it is through learning of their cultures that I know certain race or cultures aren't for me, in terms of a life long romantic relationship. As I learn about it, but it doesn't mean I agree with it. It's just for knowledge. When it comes to relationships, I need harmony and someone who doesn't clash with me all the time, and the last thing I wanna spend my time fighting about is how his culture does things and how my culture does things and we can't agree on anything.

I think it is a wonderful idea... In fact this idea should be expanded... I think having bakers meet gays might be useful.

i don't think it makes a difference at all.

I mean, I was expose to homosexuals since a kid. Friends with them. Play with them. Interacted with them. I actually was brought up in an environment where in a way, we felt more sorry for homosexuals than feel like they are some uncomfortable things. It was always alot of sympathy for them, because we saw them as unlucky to be born with abnormal preferences. And because of that, they get more love. It's just that, we feel that, being in such an orientation naturally makes their life even harder.

It's funny I was just watching a "First Date" program, featuring a 49 yr old gay dude who is having trouble finding a mate. And he says most gay people are ageist and find him too old to date, they always want younger. And he swing from being closet to being open to being closet again, his life. I mean, they are gonna face harder challenges, in an already difficult life because of their sexual preference. So the sympathy is for that.

But I still would side the gay baker on his right not to custom-make a cake specifically for a gay marriage because it is against his religious belief.

By the way, I looked at the type of cakes of that baker made. It's seriously Picasso level of art. It's no ordinary boring cake. His skills are like right up there with the best and the most artistic and creative.

It feels like so much oppression to force him to design something against his personal beliefs. And he had a long list of things he would not bake cake for. It's not exclusive to gay people.

How is it your current state that you don't have any? How does a person *not* have black friends, Asian friends, straight friends, gay friends, older friends, or younger friends?

Who is possibly that socially inept that they don't form and cultivate friendships with all types of people? Is there some kind of mental health issue that prevents you from doing this? Are you agoraphobic, autistic, or incapacitated in some way?

Well, actually, if I didn't already have friends in one of the categories you mentioned, specifically before I moved to this area, I might not.

There isn't a very large Asian population here (18702), except for Indian folks and I daresay that if you don't go into some convenience stores, you will almost never see any.

My closest convenience store is such an establishment, but they are not open 24 hours so, I normally wind up at the bigger "chain" store (Turkey Hill) which is exactly .2 miles further away. Since I'm big on loyalty, they wind up getting the bulk of my business.

Turkey Hill has had a huge presence here since before the influx of Easterners, buying convenience stores/gas stations.

Bit late to this but to me the whole idea of paying to enter an event to "make friends" with people different to yourself seems very forced and fake. It is like paying to attend a dating site dinner with the expectation of finding a partner.

I have friends. I don't ever stop to think whether they are black, white, Indian, Muslim or Hindu etc, they are my friends. They are all people that have been there when times have been good and there when life has been shit.

You must think your goal posts are made of gold ...you use them anytime someone addresses your comments and you don’t have an answer. If you are going to post opinion you may get the same in return. I was not being snarky when I addressed your comment and really did want to hear your reply. Just because we have a differing opinion does not mean we should not try to uderstand each other’s position. I thought you may not of considered what I posted and that is why I made the comment and asked the question.

No, Butch. I've had about enough of your bullshit, too.

I "use" them when you ask one question, get an answer and then try to pretend you asked a different question. Fuck your "doe-eyed" bullshit. You know what you're doing and I refuse to waste time when, I answer a question and you go off into left field.

Don't like it? Tough shit.

I considered what you posted and dismissed it as more of your usual bullshit.

I actually agree with you when it comes to social engineering except when it comes to correcting an injustice. Remember there were times, in our lifetime, when blacks could not even drink from the same drinking fountain as whites. At the time the majority did not agree with equality...but it was the right thing to do. To me at least the same goes for homosexuals...wedding cakes...and the continuing struggles of blacks for equality.

Well, let's have some fun:

So lets do every damn thing we can do to keep it going...this not smart...in fact just plain dumb...another bad decision based on politics rather than reality.

Sometimes Israel is wrong and needs to be told... this is wrong...at least for now.

Butch

Israel did this? I thought OUR government got to decide where we put our embassies?

Pro tip: Israel has claimed Jerusalem as their capital since before there was a "Mohammad". We just decided to recognize it as such, today.

to which you "replied" with:

http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=5093349

quote:

actually...do they?... could Russia then decide they want an embassy on the grounds of the CIA for instance?... or maybe a cubbyhole in the White House... make communications a lot easier with the lackey.

Butch

You're venturing into the insane, now, Butch (while moving the goal posts, again, at the same time).

The Russians have embassies in New York City, Washington D.C. and (I believe) they have at least one more in California.

To the best of my knowledge, none of them are located near a "sensitive" area. My memory's bad, these days, but if I remember correctly, the one in NYC is on 67th Street.

I think the one in D.C. is on K Street (but it's been a while since I've been to D.C.)

The "grounds of the CIA" aren't in DC, by the way. They're in Langley, Va.

Then, you "counter" with:

http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=5093358

quote:

ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr

quote:

ORIGINAL: kdsub

No I am trying to show with satire the obscurity of your post... at least in my opinion. I don't expect you to agree of course and we will just have to disagree.

Butch

There was nothing "obscure" about my post. President Trump made the decision and announced the decision, today.

I'm sure Israel "lobbied" the last four presidents to make that move, but the ultimate decision was with us. So WE DECIDED. Therefore, this could not be an instance where "Sometimes, Israel is wrong".

. o 0 (Stand by for goal post movement in 3 ... 2 ... )

Okay. You made a typo. That happens, but I have to show it to get to the real goal-post-moving-bullshit piece de resistance:

http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=5093361

quote:

ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr

quote:

ORIGINAL: kdsub

My mistake it was supposed to be absurdity.

Butch

What was supposed to be absurdity? That Israel was wrong when they decided we were going to move our embassy?

... and drum roll, please

Yes it is absurd in my opinion to even mention embassy in this discussion as a reason. see my post above.

So, after all that bullshit and giving you the benefit of the doubt that you weren't just being purposely obtuse, the final answer is: "Mentioning an embassy on a thread about a U.S. embassy is "absurd".

Well, you would appear to be an expert.

Maybe the whole point of a set up that lets white folk "befriend" ethnics is because the targeted audience for this foolishness feel that they shouldn't be making racist statements if they can't justify them by adding: "I'm not a racist. I have black friends, but..."

Technically, you aren't a racist if you got friends of other races.

I mean, seriously people get accused of racism, EVEN when they marry someone of other races.

The whole "racism" word is super abused by lefties these days.

But it will be interesting to see, "Know a LGBT", "Know a Muslim" Events.

Like the idea of that is so alien here. Because it's like...., there are no barriers to talk to a minority. Also perhaps our surface area is so small. There are minorities everywhere. Perhaps even, they outnumber chinese, if ya include all the foreigners living here who are all minorities really.

I was watching another program called 90 days fiance, but an older season. And it's funny like this white dude from Pennsylvania was marrying a black chick from South Africa. And his father lives in Texas is against inter-racial marriage. And the American dude explanation to his fiance was, "There are no black people in Texas", so his dad is just not used to it! But all his siblings and his mom, was so warm and welcoming to his fiance. Only the dad actually told his fiance that inter-racial marriage is not socially acceptable in America. And their kids will suffer. That's why he oppose it.

I mean, it was just 2012 or something. And at their wedding in Pennsylvania, I see so many minorities of all kinds. Asian Indians, Chinese, Hispanic, Africans, like all races. Looks like the younger generation gotta have alot of minority friends, because his fiance is from south africa and those minorities aren't her friends.

You know, I would have bought this from at least some people. I'm not challenging the fact that there are certain places in the country that are small towns that have very little cultural diversity, aka dang near everybody who lives there is white. I've lived in places like that.

The reason I won't buy it from you in particular? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you serve in the military? If you did, this is not adding up for me. There weren't at least some of your military buddies that were categories other than white? What about your music, school, and all of the other stuff you've done?

Do you see why I'd have a tough time believing that you don't, or never did, have friends that didn't look like you?
