Texas lawmakers recommend impeaching AG Ken Paxton after investigation

Holy shit!

Bribery, corruption, weaponization of the office, and of course an affair. He opened a legal defense fund for an executive of a company his OWN office was investigating! Oh and he accepted $100k from the guy. Hmmmm. Sounds a bit fishy. No?

quote:

In 2014, he admitted to violating Texas securities law over not registering as an investment advisor while soliciting clients. A year later, Paxton was indicted on felony securities charges by a grand jury in his hometown near Dallas, where he was accused of defrauding investors in a tech startup. He has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts that carry a potential sentence of five to 99 years in prison.

He opened a legal defense fund and accepted $100,000 from an executive whose company was under investigation by Paxton’s office for Medicaid fraud. An additional $50,000 was donated by an Arizona retiree whose son Paxton later hired to a high-ranking job but was soon fired after trying to make a point by displaying child pornography in a meeting.

What has unleashed the most serious risk to Paxton is his relationship with another wealthy donor, Austin real estate developer Nate Paul.

Several of Paxton’s top aides in 2020 said they became concerned the attorney general was misusing the powers of his office to help Paul over unproven claims that an elaborate conspiracy to steal $200 million of his properties was afoot. The FBI searched Paul’s home in 2019 but he has not been charged and his attorneys have denied wrongdoing. Paxton also told staff members that he had an affair with a woman who, it later emerged, worked for Paul.

Paxton’s aides accused him of corruption and were all fired or quit after reporting him to the FBI. Four sued under Texas’ whistleblower laws, accusing Paxton of wrongful retaliation, and in February agreed to settle the case for $3.3 million. But the Texas House must approve the payout and Phelan has said he doesn’t think taxpayers should foot the bill.

Note: If you want to know what they are up to, look at what they accuse you of doing.

The Republican-led Texas state house impeached him on 20 articles!!!

Who would defend such a man in office?

hmmm?

Wow..

Republicans hold one of their own accountable and you pretend that makes them a "cult of corruption"

The President is one single Republican

This, while the FBI arm of the "Democrat" party ILLEGALLY covers up Biden's known proven crimes. While fellow "Democrat" leaders cover up Pelosi's insider trading crimes, Clinton and Clinton's crimes to include rape and collusion with Russia to throw an election, Fauci's crimes funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab which killed MILLIONS around the globe, and then perjuring himself before Congress when asked about it, and and everything else under the sun

Every elected "Democrat" sees it as their primary duty to cover up massive bribery schemes, bureaucratic targeting of political dissidents, government collusion to censor speech, and every form of malfeasance there is...

On and on and on. BLM leaders pocketing tens of millions in donations while BLM itself goes broke? "Nothing to see here"

City after city burning, small businesses destroyed, people killed....

You are literally insane so far as I am concerned

Oh yes... The one single Republican argument. Usually you say is a "nobody" and unimportant. This Republican doesn't have any real influence or power in the Republican party, right? He's a nobody like George Santos.

It doesn't bother you that the man you want to see as President again supports this guy? Of course not. Why should it?

How about this Republican:

Donald Trump, others stand with Texas AG Ken Paxton after impeachment vote

quote:

Ted Cruz, the state’s junior senator and among the most conservative lawmakers in Washington, D.C., called the impeachment a “travesty” in a tweet thread Saturday morning.

And no... There are hundreds of instances of Republicans in their cult of corruption. I will post many on here as I have time.

Republicans publicly disagreeing and debating is the opposite of cult behavior

"Democrats" on the other hand.... March in lockstep with Dearest Leader, no matter what otherworldly craziness is being pushed

Republicans calling the impeachment of Paxton, "A travesty" JUST to impress their cult leader - Donald Trump, and his cult leader - Vladimir Putin is the DEFINITION of cult behavior.

You're projecting now

You're thinking of how you bow and kneel in obeisance before your Alzheimer's daddy as he pushes men with erections into women's showers and dorms

Not projecting. Rather observing your behavior and Ted Cruz's for that matter with regard to Trump and your right wing masters.

See, the GOP in Texas has more of a backbone than the GOP in the House.

Of course, ever since I saw this story this morning, I've had The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas playing in my head. Ugh, now I gotta see which streaming service has it.

While you accuse me of copying RW talking points? You can't even come up with your own lines

Republicans openly disagree and debate. If two agree you pretend they're worshiping one another or whatever. If two disagree you pretend that means they're a cult

As leftists blindly march in woke insanity lockstep

Hate whitey because antiracism, attack public speakers because antifascism... Censor speech because danger to democracy blah blah blah

All hail the Biden crime family

You people are pathetic and you are despicable

I ain't marchin. Fuck that. Ima sit my big ass down. Maybe yell louder.

Free speech is a wonderful thing. But nowhere is there a law that says that me or anyone else has to actually give a damn about bullshit being spouted, when they know there is no truth in it at all.

I believe in free speech. I also believe in Stand Your Ground, fuck around & find out, Ain't Nobody Got Time For That, and I'm 100% That Bitch.

You have GOT to be fucking kidding. The Republican party is most definitely a cult of Donald trump in every sense of the word.

You are sincerely so indoctrinated, that you don't see that.

Ask Ted Cruz, or Lindsey Graham

The amount of grift and lies in the prior administration is endless

From Alyssa Farah Griffin's J6 testimony.

Q: Tell me more about your sense of Ms. McEnany, where she fell on this sort of 9 either, hey, we lost, let's gracefully exit, versus, let's facilitate the big lie?

A I am a Christian woman,so | will say this.
Kayleigh is a liar and an opportunist. |wish her the best, but she made - she's a smart woman. ~ She's a Harvard law grad. This is not an idiot. She knew we lost the election, but she made a calculation that she wanted to have a certain life post-Trump that required staying in his good graces. And that was more important to her than telling the truth to the American public.

Q: That suggests, Ms. Griffin, that you --you're suggesting that she knew that what she was saying was inaccurate, that she's not a true believer, she’s a liar.

A: That is my assessment, yes. | never confronted her on it, because i don't think it would have been constructive. But she is she's actually a very smart person, andl think she saw that as a moment to kind of, like, if I do this one last public-facing stand for Trump, I'm going to be set. ~ This is going to work out for me. And, | mean, it did. She got her FOX News gig. She - it worked out precisely how she'd always planned for it to, but she knew better.

SCOTUS actually ruled in favor of civil rights! So Alabama and Louisiana will have to redistrict properly before next year's election..

It was a 5-4 decision, but Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Kavanaugh sided with the liberal justices.

Not sure what that has to do with this thread?
