First post ever. (And probably Only post ever, but hey. You will get a grin.)

I goaded my top once, eons ago - Dunno what got into me. I smarted off, I teased, I got bratty.

Then.. I got waxed, shaved, hooded and turned into a living salad bar at the next house party.

*head scratches*
Not really what I was aiming for, but none the less interesting!

Just had to post it, this thread made me remember the whole thing..I can almost smell the ranch.. [:D]

PS: That stuff gets *COLD*

I have to say that feline has the right answer here... An owner should know His or Her property well enough to tell what *punishment* the slave/sub actually likes and dislikes.

I prefer to simply let the girl know that I am unhappy with her and ignore her, left alone unpunished and unbound - If there is truely anything in the D/s relation, then the thought of failing her Owner should hurt more than trial of the flesh... and the Dom/me can tell if they are doing their part by the reaction of the isolated subject.

SternMistress -> RE: Head Trips (5/13/2004 12:45:00 PM)

It entirely depends on my sub/slave.
Eg. A masochistic pain slut won't ever be physically 'punished', what's the point?
That would be reward.
I just simply put them in a wooden box and ignore them for a length of time that fits the crime.
A little while ago, I wanted one of my subs to learn how to give me a foot massage, I set him the task of learning - he didn't and tried to come up with a dozen excuses. I won't tolerate excuses. His punishment was to be my footrest while my sissy maid massaged my feet. He'll have to do that till I decide he's worthy of another chance, he won't be worthy of another chance till he reaches the now higher goal set for him - now he has to learn about reflexology. Silly boy.
Tough titty, should have done as he was told in the first instance.
Be inventive with the punishment, to fit with the crime and the sub/slaves' mindset.

Amen sister

again -
the masochist says 'beat me'
the true sadist says 'no'

it constantly amazes me how often humor really is a reflection of a profound thought/idea/statement

I agree with what many here have said - the punishment should fit both the nature of the crime AND the mindset of the sub/slave

if they are misbehaving to try and entice play, no play will be forthcoming for quite some time - even if I was looking forward to some ( a Master who cannot control himself cannot possibly begin to hope to control others)

I have yet to have a sub/slave act up during play to try and get a more intense level of play - I am very heavy handed (still working to control this in myself - but have gotten much better over the years ( thank you SirBosk for that first sensual caning demo))

And, as iwill pointed out, there is a catharsis that takes place during the punishment - whatever form that punishment takes - once completed the sub/slave knows that the incident is forgiven ( and hopefully the punishment was of such nature as to preclude a repeat of the incident - if not then the Dominant has failed)

well - theres my tuppence - time to feed the birds

ShadeDiva -> RE: Head Trips (5/20/2004 10:08:03 PM)

If they actively purposely disobeyed or acted out just to get attention/punishment - that would be the LAST time I interacted with them as a dominant.

I'd be civil, but that's about it.

I cover that explicitly and clearly when assessing someone that wishes to interact with me as a submissive that I do not tolerate or do I want to deal with that kind of gameplaying.

Do it once, after knowing I don't like it and it's something I don't tolerate, is the same thing as telling me, I do not wish to interact with you again as a submissive.

I HATE games, and I don't allow that kind of bs in my space.

My favorite on this comes from a book review by Eric Idle (of Monty Python fame)

He stated:

"I laughed until I stopped."

Now, for me, the poignant wisdom of that simple statement is awe inspiring.

People feel whatever emotion they are feeling until they stop feeling it.
