Being privy to certain information, you know that for some reading is no longer the "pleasure" that it once was for some of us. However, what you have posted here remains absolutely true. I read this entire post without difficulty.

So there it is. I've seen this before, although I have yet to read the actual article. I think I read it over at the journals or something.

I posted somewhere this morning that I do believe that some nit pick about the spelling and grammar a bit too much. And so often they will misspell something themselves in the process. It isn't really that important, I don't believe. We get sidetracked off the topic when we become involved with how a word is spelled. Who cares??? It would be like pointing out that someone stuttered. Sooooooo??? Does that change the subject? I don't think so.

Okay, I had a little trouble with comprehension, but I got the jist, lol

You are right MizSuz, all that matters is that you are able to read and understand. I was wronge to make that comment earlier.

I've seen that little note for over a year now, and yanno ... I *do* have trouble with a few words. You see most folks start adding in things to that little ditty, they want to see if it really works, you know?

In all honesty - I read this added word (it certainly wasn't in the original version I saw, anyway, lol) sllpeing as slipping or sleeping, before my brain stumbled to the next likely possiblity. Same for nruate, my brain put in nutraite or nitrate. slpimy became slimy.

So yeah it's not *easy* for me to read that at all ... I have to halt and then dicipher what was meant. And funnily enough, I tend to use both letters and words - I tend to read several paragraphs at once, misspellings or new words, or ones that don't seem to fit will halt me in my little tracks and I go hunting for what the devil that was. lol. Sad thing is I tend to be several pages past that when I realize wait that didn't fit! (that's when I start cursing the editor and printer, LOL)

But as usual ... I'm the weird one of the bunch, lol.

I'm dyslexic, as posted else-thread. What are you all talking about? I want to cry having disentangled to: I once read

...i think...

It's too hard for me, and re: later posts in this threads. Spelling matters 100% to those of us who've had to rote learn their written language skills.

It was not my intent to make things difficult for those of you that have a more difficult time, but simply to prove a small and nearly insignificant point. I think, however, that your difficulty in reading it made the point very well.

First I want to say that I absolutely adore your mind!

I do I do! Then I want to say this...when I am talking about spelling, I am talking about a word here and there. I'm not dyslexic or ADD, but I also have my challenges these days when it comes to reading. What MizSuz posted up there was easy for me because I just went down the center of it and didn't linger. I suppose my mind just translated it for me. lol

People cry "Spell check!!" and the forum doesn't have a spell check function! lol However, it does have a "preview" function, therefore we can all take a moment to read over what we have written before we post it to make sure it is readable. We can double check ourselves. If we forget an s here or a comma there it isn't the end of the world, we will be understood. But an entire post of that is maddening to get through.

If I can't read a post, I'll skip it. I'm not going to make a post telling that poster to spell check, or addressing their education, etc. If they can figure out how to make the post, and they can read and understand the posts of others, they can figure out how to edit their post so it can be read and understood by others. It's that simple.

There are cases, for example if someone has had a stroke, it can take that person quite some time to make a simple post, correcting all those transposed letters, lol. We make time for things that are important to us. Regardless of what yours, mine, and our individual challenges may be, I do believe that what we have to contribute here is valuable. Oh hell yeah! So I may drop an e once in awhile, but I attempt to always remember to dot my i's,

even if I don't get them in the right spot.
