You laugh at Tiffanys- but I'd like to see a hundred doms take a slave into a Tiffany's and any collar store out there and tell her she can have her pick of ANYTHING she wants and see what gets preferred.

Tiffany's makes many elegant, appropriate, and fabulously artistic collars.

Of course, I could always make the snide remark that most doms in the world don't have a clue on how to pick fabulous pieces of personalized jewelry, nor do they have the resources to afford it.  Eternity collars offer bland, basic, starkness at a reasonable price to most people- with a lot of "Bdsm culture approval points" in the mix.

I think that's a bit harsher than the reality...but not too much.

[&:]thankyou fitz ;that's a nice shop online but i wish you specified exactly which collar you bot ,and exactly what material ;size ;etc you are so pleased with....thanks,happy thankgiving to you personally;
LOVEles-

I bought the Turian Collar, 20" circumference stainless steel (custom made as it's not a standard size) from House of Collars. Happy thanksgiving to you, too, James - even though I'm a brit [:)]

LuckyAlbatross - I've seen Tiffany's collars and while they're gorgeous, I do prefer the stark simplicity of the eternity. And there's something wonderfully barbaric and raw about seeing the slight imperfections of the makers' work on the collar that makes it all the more individual and special. My collar was made specifically for one person and one person alone. It never went on shop display, it didn't get passed over by another customer. It was measured and worked with one person in mind.

Whatever the design, that makes it ten times more special.

Great! Thanks for the list! Now if I can just find a new puppygirl to try these collars on...

KatyLied -> RE: Always Collar Shopping (11/23/2006 8:57:47 PM)

I have to say that in a battle, Tiffany's definitely wins.  I'm sure I could find something there collar-worthy.

that eternity collar looks Perfect! I'm kind of a traditionalist, and like the torque look, but..her skin is so sensitive, anyone know if I can get it in white gold, or plated? thanks katy, seems I could just follow you around the web all day, and find just the Good stuff!

They have them in gold. Expensive but worth it. Plate for someone with sensitive or acidic skin is an accident waiting to happen...unless you like green skin with associated infection.

I'm going to butt in here with a related question.  I can always find sites that sell collars for women, but no such luck if I want one for my male submissive.   We bought one for him at an event back in April that's made out of chainmail and it's very nice, but it's not something he could wear in vanilla public.  He has a job dealing with the public every day, so I have to be very careful.  Except for a plain gold or silver chain, I'm at a loss right now.  With Christmas coming up, I would like to find something special.  Any suggestions?
Off to bed now....will check for responses in the morning.
Many thanks in advance,
Mistress Scarlet

There are lots of things about that can have significance. Last christmas I got the boy a very nice italian mens bracelet. It had a hex key closure on it and while it hinted at linked chain was not terribly obvious. Will have to locate the box for the maker.
He also got a ring I liked.
**sad part was the pet soon turned rabid and had to be put out of MY misery**

angelic -> RE: Always Collar Shopping (11/24/2006 10:53:51 AM)

Personally, i would prefer something like this over and above anything that Tiffany's would have.

I used to laugh every time you posted Tiffany's, thinking you were just being sarcastic.  Then one day I checked them out, online.  I found some very elegant chokers and short necklaces in the same price range that my Master paid for my collar, and which don't look all that different, either.  It is certainly a viable option.  Master wanted me to wear something thick yet something I could wear 24/7 which would not cause issues at work, etc.  I am quite happy with his selection, and it was found here.

Edited to add, here's a sweet little something from Tiffanys:

KennelMaster05 -> RE: Always Collar Shopping (11/25/2006 7:54:41 AM)

Yes, for going out in public I will say the Tiffany's collars/chokers are obviously very nice, but NOT for everyday training! lol!

ownedgirlie -> RE: Always Collar Shopping (11/25/2006 8:39:12 AM)

Correct.  They are not training collars. I have two training collars that Master will use on me for such purposes.  For my 24/7 collar, he was kind enough to give me one which family, friends, and employers would not put me on the spot about.

Needless to say I am always looking for cool collars. I haunt the local pet shops, JTs, Extreme, Fairvilla, etc, but I am always open to new suggestions. I would like to find some metal/steel collars as most of mine are leather or nylon.
Any suggestions? Photos?
Thank you!
Kennel Master

Personally, this little number gets my vote.  And at just under $6,000 it's almost half off the regular price.  [;)]

Of course, most any of these would do for me.  [:D]

winterlight -> RE: Always Collar Shopping (11/3/2007 10:33:10 AM)

I don't like the regular collars but that is my taste. I would prefer a necklace as i work with the public.  plus i work with a very snoopy person and i would
get questions about a regular collar.
