Greetings Ashaia,

Indeed I know, this is why I studied three different translations of the bible and even closely examined the translative work of Jerome himself. There have been many translational errors . Just as any translations that occur, the translator may try to be objective but often they must make a decision upon what was intended, when there is not a direct word to translate to. I believe this is one of the biggest reason that with any text that teaches philosophy or such, the heart is often the best translator.

Good evening, Orion,

There are more texts not included in the final King James organization of the Bible then are there, that reference the story of the Angels, and their fall. Also, Dante's Inferno, not a Biblical text at all, has given a lot of information to the legend of the heavenly battle of good and evil. It may surprise some people to realize that much of Dante's Inferno was created after he read the texts like the Gospel of Judas and others. There is a grouping of ancient texts written within the first two hundred years after the Christ's supposed death that are not found in the official Bible, and many contradict one another. I don't know if that information helps, but it is often purported to be a Christian story or a Christian view, and really if analyzed, it isn't at all, but just as ancient.

Greetings Jeffery

By the traditions found in the source material we can extrapolate many possibilities.   Unfortunately for us Norman wasn't writing a anthropological study of Gorean life, he was writing a book of entertainment.  Therefore even your supposition is left up to personal interpretation.  There in nothing in the tradition written by Norman surrounding companionships that indicate she couldn't walk off with what she brought in, perhaps it was part of her contract, we simply do not know there is no contract for us to examine, they are just mentioned in passing.  I have seen many write ups on "what they contained" by no proof positive has ever been brought to the table.

We can therefore choose to believe anything we want in matters as grey as this.  Will our chosen beliefs be valid gospel, well until Norman chooses to provide us with more details they are suppositions that's all.  Seeing how real down to Earth arranged contracted marriages work, there are a million possibilities that are equally possible.
