If someone is unowned and wants to be owned by a Gorean then they should do as has been done since the whole concept of an unowned slave started online at least a decade ago and do their best to act as they believe and have been trained in how a Gorean's slave should act.

Mentally, it could be thought of, to use a referent in the books, as a girl in a slaver's house who has been put on display to entice someone to buy her. The difference is that she gets to choose your owner. She is putting herself on display to entice someone to own her. That is what being an unowned slave is really about.

Hypothetical dream time here <grins>: In the best of possible translations of the books to Earth practice, any would be Gorean's slave would give herself to a slaver in her area who would train and then market her. There would be no unowned slaves. There were certainly none in the books. In the books there were slaves, run-away slaves, former slaves and a very very few who were free but looking to be enslaved. The last state did not last long.

The reality is that such slavers and slave houses pretty much do not exist. The people capable of and willing to train someone who will go to another are a small percentage those who claim to be of the Caste of Slavers. I study the techniques of slave training from BDSM sources as they are the ones who have put the study and work into learning and practice of that art. From what I have learned so far, what such a trainer really needs to know is a body of knowledge equal to a college BA degree. Most 'Gorean slavers' are still taking their first high school classes on the subject but that is what we get from the on and offline players.

I have long said that an expert is someone who knows how much they don't know. I am not yet an expert on the training of slaves but the fog has lifted somewhat for me. <grins>
