How about Harvey Keitel as Ivar??  I think he could carry it off quite well.  Perhaps a combo as far a producing it, Quentin for the action/fight scenes, which should always be over the top and then Eastwood for the rest.  It is a shame Kubric has passed on, I think the series would have been right up his alley.

I think Peter Jackson could do the movies justice. As far as an actor to play Tarl. Tarl is a young man from England in his mid 20's, well built with red hair. There is not many current actors that can fit that bill. I think it would make the films more realistic and believable if Tarl was played by a new actor one not known in the big screen. Even Tarl's father was discribed as being in his 30's, Eastwood would be to old to play either part. I personaly would like to see the movies in a realistic point of view, and not some slapstick comedy. So Matthew McConnaughy is out, sorry.

Greetings Masters and Mistresses

this girl finds that the biggest problem with both of the Gor movies that are out (not including that they are VHS) is that they are PG rated... Gor is not a PG world

brattie wishes the Free well and a most pleasant evening

Greetings Master Thadius,

Greetings Masters, Free and slaves

this girl would love to see Robert Rodriguez take on such a project, and delights at the thought of Matthew, (another UT alumnus), as Tarl...

as a side note, this girl was walking Town Lake here in Austin as Matthew ran by with his trainer, at least 20 girls stopped and whipped out camera phones to snap those incredible sweat drenched abs!  Goodness that Man is gorgeous...

well wishes,

fairer than she

Morning and greetings,

As far as Matthew playing Tarl and the accent, there is always acting classes.   The hair can be dyed red, and many actors play comedies as well as dramas.    Even Lord of the Rings had humor infused in some scenes.   And in the books there were many places where I have laughed out loud reading.   Umm....fairer, did you get a shot of him?  Email me off line with it if you did.  oh..for my FC's  slave of course!

And yes, I suppose Clint is too old to play his father.  Ahh, well, in his day.....

I wish you well,

Liz
