Tal Bull

When I read your post, I heard an echo: "fully know the hazards of my chosen profession."

I wish you well.

Actually, you have no idea how hard it is for me to be as humble as I am, as for berating you, well since you already understand your level of ability, I will go easy on you.

Har!!  You actually think I’m talking about myself? You don’t have a chance in hell of berating me, brother. I’d stick it back in your face ten fold, and you know it.

But I have seen you pick on a few women….and completely humiliate them over simple-ass petty things they’ve posted. One of them messaged me {they know I don’t read these parts of the boards and often see the posts a week later} the other day with a link to a few posts where you were kicked around a bit --- I just had to come here and laugh a bit….you know how it is.

I'm curious as to how it is that you can determine the amount of time I or even Michael could (exist, converse with, stand our ground, put up with someone, last before we nodded off, perhaps you meant a physical challange) with Faramir.

Yanno Bull….I made a mistake of including you in my post – I haven’t seen you pick on anyone.  But to answer your question….I don’t know what it is about me, but I’m just brilliantly intuitive beyond comprehension when it comes assessing /sizing-up these types of scenarios.

I guess it might have something to do with the line of work I used to be in. I used own a little sports bar about ten minutes north of San Francisco…..and on the weekends I had all kina people coming in because we had a DJ and hip hop music was being played.

Between Thursday night and early Sunday morning, I could count on a good ten to thirteen throw-downs every single weekend for a good long time{That was in the late 80’s early 90’s though}. At one point, the cops we’re called down there so many times that the City Manager warned me that the council would soon start an ‘’abatement’’ process against me if the fights didn’t die down.

Anyways…I’d be walking around the floor and yanno….scanning the place, and a lot of times I’d see guys looking at each other funny in the beginning stages where insults were being thrown about. So… what I used to do is walk up to the guy who I just knew was going to lose the fight…and tell him -- using many different methods, trying not hurt his ego --  ‘’ Brother you’re going to get knocked out – Please walk away’’   And god damn Bull…..I just can’t remember a time when I was wrong ; really... every time I put my arm around the guy trying to offer some good counsel and he didn’t listen to my advice – He got stole’ on…. And sometimes real bad.

So like I said….I’m just really intuitive when it comes to matters such as these. ; }

How long would you last? I'm sure we could get another "been around" type sportscaster to offer his Superbowl predictions without having even seen the teams parctice.

I've got a lota that ''black'' Pisan blood in me…..and my Italian mother used to warn all us kids not to be a 'braggadocio'  So... I've already done a little too much bragging regards my intuitive prowress,  I’ll just say that I've got skills in a few good areas and I could hold my own – believe it  ; }

I’ll end this by saying that I’ve got no beef with you…..I just don’t like guys who consistently pick on the weak.

As my dad used to tell my brother and I ‘’ The sure sign of a true pussy is someone who picks on another they know they can already beat’’

Now there's an interesting concept, since you are rather sure you can take Michael, I assume?

I'm also fairly certain Michael never took a shot at the girl, he directed his comment to Faramir, in reference to something Faramir said to me.

While I'm not siding with anyone, I'm not siding against anyone either. And this thread is about a much better subject than mine or your bravado and male posturing. All I can say is I am who I am, nothing more, nothing less, some folks find in me favor; while others find, not so much.

I will tell you though, I do pick on those that have it coming, well at least when in my opinion they have it coming. Now, while I reserve the right to be a prick, I don't actually find it a form of entertainment or a productive passtime. So no, I don't needlessly pick on anyone. Thanks for stopping by the Gorean side.

Gosh I was just about fair and balanced enough with this post to be the next guest on Bill O'Reilly!

I wish you well,

Bull

Damn Bull..... I'm gettn' up there in age but I'm still pretty purky yanno. I know I can still run the B-ball court and easily pull rebounds down away from twenty-five year olds - That's gotta count for a lil' something, dontcha think?

What else?  I still run class 5+ rivers/creeks here in the PNW - Where if an outa shape guy falls outa the boat on one of the longer rapids, it's pretty much a thumbs down scenario.

The brothers in the Marines used to tell me I had fast hands for a white boy - That might count just a lil' bit too  ; }

Anyways..... I've had a good laugh and some great fun here in the Gorean section. You guys are alright, I wish you well, also!

Tal and greetings,
I realize that this is possibly an old  threat here, but I have to agree, I have seen the 300 over a dozen times, and I notice something different every time, there are tons of Gorean refferences thruought the movie. I am sure this has already been pointed out but, The scene with the oracle, looked like a Gorean slave dance to Me. I almost came out of my chair when I saw that.

I prefer action to a lot of talk. This thread started out quite righteously about certain values that are Gorean as being exemplified in the film "300" and then the thread was hi-jacked by a bunch of hysterical loud-mouths who stunk up the place talking about politics and religion. That's enough of a pisser in itself, but the fact that they missed the entire point of the film, of history, and attempted to substitute their plagarized opinions from the op-ed pages and spew that garbage out here is pure bullshit.

See you're wrong here, very wrong. The movie 300 included all of the above. A movie would not be interesting if it were just hack and slash. The Ephors were a large part of Spartan society. That is IN history and is religion blatant proof.

The moments before, during and after Leonidas and the 300 Spartans were political as well. Politics are part of your freedom that you so enjoy. Men have died for that freedom you have so much enjoyed. Leonidas and his 300 died for the freedom that Spartans enjoyed before, during and after the war at plataea.

Was 300 a Gorean movie, no. It was however, similar as Bull has stated in virtues. There were instances where I though back to occurences in the books written by Dr. Lange and thought, "Hmm, that seems almost familiar."

Bull your post was on point and you said it far better than I could have. Thank you.

Democracy is a delusion. The fallacy of totalitarianism is that it demands that everyone react the same way. Politics, or so the anthropologists say, is a "social glue," like religion. Personally, I've always sought for a unity beyond polarity. There's really no wrong or right in the human condition. I work to transcend the conflicts and pressures of life. Like riding a tarn, sailing high in the clear sky.

Time O' Yer Life, huh kid?  :)
