Greetings Master,

I tried Gor for a brief period of time a few years ago .. The age thing was often thrown in my face as well. I think you will find that wherever you go and whatever you do ... The age card is a low blow to play but one that is played often.

I would tend to agree with what others have said .... And even in the Gor books ... It speaks of a man's honor, not his age. Really who you prove yourself to be is what will count far above and beyond your age.

How else does one aquire experience (that comes with age) unless they are actually out there living?

crookedhalo,

How did you go about "trying" the Gor thing?

I wish you well,

Liz

Funny Liz, I thought just the same thing, and would too like to hear the answer on that from her...

Be well

Tal Piyush,

They say that with age comes wisdom, but we all know that how we grew up, what we were exposed to growing up and how we dealt with all of that is what shapes, molds and defines us.  Like most have said on here they are some people who at 20 have more 'life' experience than someone twice their age.  In my own life I have seen some people,  younger than me have more 'life' experience in things than I have.  I do not put them down because of their age when they start talking about things for actions do speak louder than words.  If your actions speak of a mature, knowledgable, understanding and openness and not of a juvenile delinquent, then people will not care if you are 20 or 100.

I'm a firm believer that you are as old or young as you feel and age is just a number.

Be well and enjoy.

*fast reply*

The one thing that you have going for you is your youth, learning who and what you are at a younger age can be very beneficial.  Alot of folks don't begin to start down that path until after all the parties and such, and they realize one day that there is more to life than getting laid or being drunk.

I hope you continue down the path that is right for you.  Just remember to be true to who you are, the rest will take care of itself.

I wish you well,
Thadius

I read the Gor books in the early 70's. I married a college woman who just turned 21 when I was 17 in 1975. When we made love I just naturally took charge. She got into my Gor books and took an interest. We would happily buy new Gor books as they were published. After we both watched the Story of O on cable, she begged my collar in the Gorean fashion. I denied her as she didn't seem fully ready to submit as a kajira. I eventually collared her in 1980. We discovered the online Gorean community about 2000. We are still happily together. Who can tell me I was too young? I have never allowed anyone else's opinion to slow me down. I am still learning and growing as a person and as a Gorean. I will turn 50 this year. I wish you well.
