This may have been a topic that has been discussed before, but I do not see it recently, so........

What are the Free's opinion of owning a strong willed slave? Does it making the training more difficult for you? Do you like or not like it? Do you find it useful? Would you rather them not be very strong willed? At what point to you discern strong will and defiance?

What are the slaves opinion's of being a strong willed slave? Has it caused more difficulty for you? How have you balanced keeping a strong will with not having your spirit broken? Do you sometime's find that you may resist things without thought in the beginning of ownership? If so, what are your thoughts on that?

I will offer my thoughts and experiences as this thread plays out.

Well, for what it's worth, and although I can--I have no interest in training a bratty slave. I have real work to do.

In fact, I chose nittaa (among other reasons) because I don't have to continually punish her. Yes, she needs training, but that's because I need to explain what I expect.

However, I then expect her to do it, not to have to be forced.

So--to answer your question: I simply would pass on a strong willed slave. I just don't have the time.

However, that doesn't mean I expect her to be weak. In fact, she's an accomplished business woman. Her skills are now in my service.

I think I look at strong willed differently than most. I don't see it as brattiness ( which even I can say is intolerable ). I do look at it as being strong of mind, heart, and soul with  a bit of stubborness and independence thrown in.

Not at first. As I got older though, yes, it started to cause a bit of difficulty. I guess you could say that I got a bit big in the britches

That was very hard in the beginning. It took alot of patience on the part of both myself and my owner to get to a stage where he was happy with where I was.

I am the person I have always been.  I prefer to think of it as "decisive".  No doubt because I prefer not to think of it as "huge pain in the ass".   In some ways it has made things more difficult, some training methods are less effective and sometimes things take longer than they should to sink in.  On the other hand, I have avoided the pitfall of becoming overly dependent upon Master, which he would consider a burden.  Whether it is worth it in the end would be a question Master would have to answer, but he has kept me this long so I guess so far so good.

I find a strong willed woman to be attractive, maybe it is the challenge that it presents.  There is a balance to it though, if it is pushed simply to test the limits constantly, it becomes tiring and as you put it bratty.  I find that once that energy is directed to something more natural and constructive, it is quite beautiful.  I am sure we all have run into our fair share of SAMs, but I am not sure that is the same thing.  Is that actually strong will or is it an artificial wall put up to garner the attention they crave in the only way they know how to seek it?  You know sort of like a cat that has been declawed, it will still attempt to claw something as a defense mechanism or even to play.  While the posturing might seem aggresive and strong, it is in reality neither.  I hope that makes sense.

I look at strong will as an inner quality.

Strong-willed just means determined mindset...it doesn't have to be a negative connotation...
 
I am a strong-willed slave with the mindset of determination of total surrender and being what my Master needs me to be......
 
Yes, I agree it causes challenges, but also opportunities to overcome in reaching for the goal of full submission and to be found pleasing to my Master.

I have read and re-read this thread thinking about exactly what you are asking/saying.  To be honest, i'm not sure i have a good answer, all i can say is what came to mind every time i read it.   So here goes:
I am a strong willed woman, many find that it leaves a bad taste in their mouth, so to speak.  I know for myself, that it takes an extremely strong Man to Master me.  I remember the first time that Thorns gave me a direct order, i did not say anything, but i did have "that look" on my face....He pointed to the floor and said:  DOWN!
He is the first Man that has ever took my will from me......all i could do from that point is say:  yes Master.   I did not and do not feel that my spirit was broken, heck, i have been seeking this all my life.  I hear people talk about freedom in slavery, but until you get to "that" point, you don't know what it is until your right there. 

Hopefully that makes some sense to you.  Sometimes i just type what i feel, it does not always come across how i am feeling it.  Great post Sir...thank you.
