I will admit up front that neither I nor my Master are Goreans, so I hope I follow the proper protocols for those who are but visitors among you.  Just because I am not Gorean does not mean that there is nothing I can learn from your culture and philosophy.  I learned just such a thing yesterday.

Since figuring out my submissive nature 3.5 years ago, I had always wondered why a Gorean Free Woman would beg a collar.  Yesterday, as I leaned on the strength of my Master NChaka, I  think I finally understood why.  The answer is simply this.  A Free Woman does not beg a collar to become a slave, she begs a collar to become His.

Is this how a Gorean woman sees it?  I welcome comments from all.

I hope I have not offended anyone by posting this and wish you all well.

perhaps it is because she feels compelled to enter slavery, for whatever reason? whether it's because that's just the role she feels she fits into, or because that's how she wants to relate to a specific person (so she wouldn't beg a collar from most men but just the one who has managed to capture that within her)...there is also the fact that it seems that some are free not becuase that's what they'd choose for themselves, but by virtue of the fact that they haven't yet found someone they feel compelled to beg a collar from.

i forget who said it, but someone mentioned recently that women have the capacity to be both free and slave within them. that, to me, is a good way of thinking about this question. i might be way off on this, as i'm just learning about gor myself, but i thought it was interesting that you brought this up. i look forward to the responses, and i hope to see some from the free women on here, to get their perspective.

Being a Gorean  slave on Gor is not easy. Being a Gorean slave on Earth is harder still, but is it done. Knowing this one must ask why is it that an intelligent and well educated girl would dare enter this place of degredation and humility called Gor. One possible answer is the girl thought that the Model of Gor in spite of the many difficulties it is a model that liberates both sexes if handled with true beliefs and cared for correctly.
When one chooses to be a slave they chose to give up themselves completely the control of her choices become those of her owners.  Gor is not a sexual preference. It is a way of life, slavery is part of the culture, and a part of the social structure.
Submission I have found is not a gift, it is the right of the Master to take. A slave must understand and accept that she may have a Masters love, yet on the other hand, she may have a Master that chooses to withhold His affections without reason. It is His right to do so.

In my opinion, a woman begs a collar of a Man because his will to possess her has become stronger than her will to remain free.  His will is such, she can only be what naturally compels her.

Well a FW wouldnt beg a collar. A Once FW would... I believe that a FW would only beg a collar after she was either forced to do so or she stripped herself of being a Free Woman. Free Women have no ultimate say if they are to be collared, Men of the Gorean Lifestyle (this is by the books more than likely wont happen rl) would do so... only reason not to would be high social status or some other type of bond (etc.. Pending Free Companiship, Already existing Free Companionship) which also could serve for a better reason to collar the FW (hehe confusing i know). Also Free Women also are Woman and in the Gorean mind all Women have both the Free Woman and slave in her. So if a A Free woman finds a Man who her slave belly burns for ...she is nevertheless Gorean and would fall to her knees in submission... and ultimately would be collared as a slave not a Free Woman
