At work, yes.  Thats my job.

I dont take my work home with me.  If my S.O. starts to give me grief, I clam up and wait for her to go away and leave me alone.

Then when she is no longer emotional, I will discuss it in great length from an "I" perspective and taking ownership of my own feelings, trying to frame it in the positive.

What I will not do is have a conversation with somebody (when either of us is) under adrenal / emotional stress.

Just me, etc.

Heh.  That was my first thought.  It's not something I really want to do on my own time.

I don't really have a job (maybe soon), but I spend a lot of time formulating positions and coming up with defenses for them.

As far as the fighting kind of argument, its not something I really want to get involved with.  I'd rather just state my case and leave it at that.

... first of all, it's not argument, it's contradiction!

last week with Daddy about the collarme guy i'm dating - won't go into details about it.

sometimes i get the feeling He doesn't understand what i'm trying to explain to Him or then again, it might be me not listening to the His advice. also there are times when He doesn't give others the benefit of doubt even though i do and that's when i feel it's necessary to prove Him wrong.

Gosh I don't think we've ever argued.  We've had fights and tiffs and debates and exchanged words- but arguing to me just brings up an image of two people trying to prove their points and no one budging or listening to the other.

Our fights are usually just due to being too emotional in the moment, I can't think of a time when we tried to shut the other down.

Friday night the hubby called and asked if I cared if he went to the bar with some friends I said of course not but asked if he would bring me a taco (for some reason I wanted a taco really bad all week) he said yes. Well 4 am rolls around still no sign of him, OR my taco. Hello the bar had been closed for 2 hours. I was worried sick and hungry!! Worse part he didn't call and wouldn't pick up his darn phone. And when he got home I was like thankx for being considerate and he tried to act like I was keeping him from having a life when all I wanted was a damn taco and phone call. A little bit of consideration goes a LONG way

He does not argue...lol. We do "discuss", but argue, no. There is no name calling or yelling, and I rather like that.

We do not argue, yet, however I do not call your example an argument, that's a statement.

Ah, I'd like to buy an argument....

If I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position
Yes, but that's not just saying "No it isn't."

Yes it is.

No it isn't!

One of the best sketches ever.

To the OP, Master and I don't argue.  Oh way back when in the early days I'd try, goodness knows I'd try....and he'd send me away until I could speak calmly, clearly and rationally.  Now we don't argue at all.  If I want to express myself I may, in the way I have been taught.  This has helped me in all areas of life as well.

The Mister and I rarely argue over serious stuff. We do "bicker" however, in the grand tradition male vs. female viewpoints.

Him: why don't we just lay some mortar down and lay the bricks over the concrete?
Me: what?!? No... that is really half-assed, SIR.
Him: I've known people who have done it before and it worked out okay
Me: yes, well.. it would look shitty. We'd have a few inches of brick raising above the grass and that is just... trashy!
Him: Whatever... it would be cheaper
Me: you mean less work
Him: yeah, so???
Me: Look, I'm doing all the damn work anyway...
Him: I try to give input and you don't wanna hear it!
Me: You're interfering with my Artistic Vision!
Him. Oh. Sorry.

That's basically it, LOL! All the major things.. finances and most big decisions, are made by him. Technically, he has the final say on everything. But that really is theory and not practice when it comes to some things. =)

I would call that "bantering" as opposed to "bickering."  :)

In the past I have had disagreements with them, but they never turned into arguements.

Hahaha... my Mister seems to define it as extreme mental torture.
