Mine is....

To lose (a certain amount) of weight.

Now, I'd like to make clear...no one walks on the other side of the street when I approach...but...my cheeks are a smidge fuller than a year or so ago, and I'd like to fit into a smaller jean. (Okay...a lot smaller jean).

I'm okay with the circles under my eyes...that comes with age, and frankly...it makes me more distinguished (okay, fine...it's the fucking gray hair...right then...I'm stretching....but I'm working with what I have gawdammit)...where were we?

Oh yeah...distinguished...(which of course...I am)...anyway...

I'm going to quit smoking (eventually)....(in time)....(okay fine...I may not quit smoking this year....fat comes first)....(anyone have a good fucking logical reason why losing weight has to include less ice cream?  Ya know...at my age...I can afford ice cream AND Top Ramen...and I'd like to fucking know why as a God Fearing American....I have to make a motherfucking choice on that!!!!   I'd like a fucking answer on that!).

Right then....where were we?

Ah yes...my weight.

I'm going to lose some.

(Seriously this time).

No really.

Honest.  A whole bunch of it.

(I do have that little pint in the freezer....it's a small pint...it's not that big really....brb...one sec).

Okay...let's get down to business.

One sec....door...(oh shit).

Pizza man.

(It's a very small pizza....).

Can I get back to you on this?

When the pizza man comes for me he has a salad. This would be a double meat antipasta salad with four chicken strips. Sometimes some wings, other times a fish sandwich on the side.

I have not ordered a pizza in year, and have no plans to, because I make a better pizza than any commercial establishment could. People rave about it. Last time the dude said "Wher the hell did you get this ?" and I replied "I did not get it I made it". Dude almost fell over.

My resolution might be to get off the internet, because as you can see some of my posts are not well recieved.

I am sorry about this. I am willing to educate people who are willing to listen, but those who label me an anti Semite or a bigot have already been "educsated" elsewhere, most likely in the media.

I am so far from a bigot that it's not funny, but I am a racist. (contact me if you do not know the difference)

Look for less posts from me in the future, it's the same thing as not talking to a person who is not willing to listen. Why should I waste my time ?

Gonna go get on IRC now and rabblerouse there. See ya. Maybe.

I have already excised myself from another forum, perhaps CM is next. If I don't get a reason to stay you can kiss my posts goodbye. They will not have to throw me off.

I await your response to this response. Call me what you will. And don't go crying to Mommy, tell me what you think. I am a knuckle dragging redneck bigot who hates entire races just because of the actions of a few ? Fucking say so. DO IT.

The end is near.

T

Hey, good luck with your goals, I hope you stick to the plan and achieve what you want. I dont know how much i weighed at the start of last year (didn't want to), but now im down to 77 kg. Unfortunatly after seeing a natropath, that meant cutting out A LOT of foods, including anything with sugar (even some fruits), dairy, and wheat. Thank god i could eat meat! Anyway i hope hasn't put you off, since everyone is different. Just remember to look at the big picture, and the rewars at the end of the tunnel.

My new years resolution is to be more social (including joining this site and posting at forums!), and, of course, keeping that weight off (even though i can go back, im still on the same diet)

I also tend to not make specific new years resolutions but prefer to incorporate realistic changes into my life throughout the year.  Last year I simplified my life a bit, changed jobs, improved my eating and exercise habits...this year I want to continue working on all of these things and continue to extract the maximum amount of joy and contentment out of my life.

I haven't seen that your posts aren't well received...anymore than anyone else's.  I think the main problem with posting on any forum is that the poster (myself included) actually believes that anyone cares what s/he has to say.  Oh sure, there are a few posts where the OP asks a question and wants an answer.  But, on the whole, most people post for no other reason (as far as I can tell) than to put their opinion out there...akin to a blog.  I don't think anyone much cares what anyone else says here.  I mean, if you think about it, are you going to take the advice of a group of "internet people"?  People you don't know, will prolly never meet and you don't even know if they are as they portray themselves.

I read your posts and, although I don't always agree with them (or even understand them sometimes), I wouldn't say they aren't well received.  I think they are as well received as anyone else's.

Now, having said that, I have corresponded with a few posters on the other side (and please Jefffff, don't start with that other side crapola) and even asked and received advice from them.  But, to me, those people are no longer "internet people".  I've gotten to know the person behind the post.  Maybe that's what is lacking here.  But then again, you may not receive this post well (that was a joke).

have a nice boring year. no dramas. no stress inducing debacles. no deaths, births, angst, trauma, and anything else designed to raise blood pressures or blood sugars.

so far, in the first 3 days of the year, it's NOT cooperating!!

i'm not about to call it a "resolution" since my quitting smoking plan came about about 3 1/2 weeks ago.mostly due to the fact i've been smoking since i was 12 and 35 now, and also that recently i had a relative pass away and one of the things that attributed to that was lung cancer(smoked longer that i have). i got to thinking about it and knowing nothing about my birth family's health background(thank you Ohio adoption record laws) that gave me more reason to.

we decided for my quit date to be after the holidays were over.

Last year I said that my resolution if you will was to enjoy life, and I did, and one year it was not to loose more than 5 library books cause the fee's suck and I hate the agrivation, well I ended up going beyond 5 but still was a good thought.  This years unofficial resolution is to finish some of the tons of crafts I have laying about.
