Dear Mods,

I don't know maybe I am a bit of a nerd and spend to much time on Slashdot or Google+, but I think it'd be a great feature if user cold "mod up" posts. Like Google+ also "+1" Slashdot awards "mod points" 5 per week to users. You can mod a post as "funny" "insightful" "troll" etc... I think this would be a great addition to the forums.. I admittedly have no idea what implementation would be like. I just find myself reading topics and finding very insightful or profound comments from people and I wish to respond in a supportive way but my post would not be related to the OP... i.e. it's a bit off topic to quote someone just to say "hey i think this is a great statement, please ignore that i have no opinion related to the OP". Heck if I was doing that.. you mods might come after me for hijacking ;)

Anyways my 2 cents.
