You got it. To do multiple images just use the [img] http: [/img] multiple times on separate lines.

Do you know what the size limit is? It seems like this is a size limit.

I try to keep them at or under 600x600 or they'll banjax the screen all up.

The system limits uploads, as opposed to externally hosted images, to a 200 KB file size. Guidelines in the Art and Photography section request that, regardless of file size, image dimensions be kept to an 800 pixel width, which is probably still good advice.
