Yo.  hypathetically lets suppose a bug was dropped in your home and calls are monitorred. They last 30 days?? How do you proceed?

Think of it as James Bond-- and if you crash your money, home, possessions are gone.

What actions precautions do you take?

Be creative.

You go out and buy a bug killer and find it.  We actually did that once.  Doug's ex bugged the house.  It turned up in the heater vent..as well as in the light switch in the bathroom.

Educate yourself and be on guard.

Start reciting a really hot, erotic story. Stop just when you get to the good part. Wait for the listeners to call you and say, "AND...?"

I doubt those would be effective. Are they costly? Interesting.  I wonder if high pitched like dog ear can only pick up works

Generally these days if your calls are being monitored by the authorities the monitoring is happening digitally at the telephone company switch and there's not much you can do about it.  Gone are the days of their needing to visit the premises to install analog taps on the lines which would generally be detected by monitoring the voltage on the phone line.

Physical auditory listening bugs installed to hear the activities within a residence come in all sorts of varieties, often re-transmitting the audio via low powered FM (think of the connectors people use on their ipods to hear them on their car radio) or simply connected to a recording device to be recovered later.  The best way to find out how to detect them is to figure out where to buy them and the same people usually have the detectors.

Here's a poor sample:
http://www.defensedevices.com/bugdetection.html

The best advice if you think you're being monitored, don't say anything which you don't want overheard.  If you need to have that conversation, go someplace new and different and don't be in your car.  Watch who may be following or monitoring you.  Elevators are great.

Monitor away! If anyone is really that interested in the conversations at my house they have much bigger personal problems.

"awwww Sophie, your such a good little puppy, you went potty outside for momma!!" or...."Now lets see, what do we want for dinner tonight? Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup or a frozen pizza?" or, here is a hot one "did you refill the pellet burner or do I have to?" or really top secret "Turn that @#$%& TV down! I am trying to sleep!"

as the saying goes loose lips sink ships.   a screatching parrot, gay porn cant possibly be interesting. lol.   no matter how hi-teck spy stores may sell- im sure the authorities have better.  natually any authority wants to big fish and isnt too terribly interested in the small fish.

the puzzle does have me thinking of the current wiretaps w/o warrants debate

No kidding! And here I thought I was being paranoid when I saw the headlights of a car stopped over on the gravel road across the valley from my house. Thinking it was just some lonely old fucker with a pair of binoculars looking in my curtainless windows. Now I gotta worry about THIS?!?!

This is more than likely true.  However, she was not working as a police officer.  She was working as an angry wife who wanted her ex dead.  She had threatened his life on more than one occassion.  So, doubtful she had "official" wiretaps.
I did some research on them..she lived 90 miles away and had to be within a 2 mile distance to pick up any conversation.
It cost us 300 for our tap catcher.  It was well worth it in the end because it gave him the upper hand on getting out of the divorce alive and well.

hmmmmmm.....I might need to start spying on LaTigresse and SweetWenchie.

I prefer to use the honor system bugs.  Anytime you say or do something interesting, video tape it then mail the videos to me.

Mutt, go for it.........but you gotta find me first. Then there is the snoopy farmer brigade that patrols the area, and THEN you gotta watch out for............ The Evil Rooster. We won't eeeeeeeeven get into the local hillbillies that, for some unknown reason, feel they need to watch out for me.

LOL Sounds like my house. Except wood stove, not pellet. "Yes you do have to turn off Call of Duty 4, and yes we have to move wood, and quickly because it's started to snow already". Yesterday's conversation that.

What do you mean, IF? ***ALL*** traffic over the network backbones is copied directly to the NSA.

Sorry?....A bug.

A slightly less than animal disease?

A computer virus?

Something you'd prefer not be in your house?

(Hmmmmm?)

My phone was tapped for 4 years.   OK   I know   You ae wondering how I know.   LOL

I was stationed in Berlin, Germany for 4 years.   The Soviet Army tapped everyone's phone.  The Army conducted a criminal investigation against my wife and Soviet Intelligence provided transcrpits of 4 years worth of phone calls.   Very boring reading.   lol  But you have to also remember that Berlin was a spy training ground for 50 years.
