Greetings to everyone,

I am considering starting to build Bondage furniture from wood and steel construction,
I am currently unemployed and have thought about taking on a personal challenge for some time now,

My initial plans are to construct a kneeler bench and a couple different versions of bondage horses "being adjustable for different means of restraint and acting as a wooden horse as well".
Please feel free to toss your input in.

I am very meticulus about my work and always beleive that things should be Overbuilt.
Most of the furniture I plan on building will be from ONLY Hardwoods, I have a Large portable sawmill and a stockpile of hardwoods rough cut, ranging from Cherry, Hard Maple, Oak, Sassafras, and Locust. If I would need a specific hardwood or find a high demand I would simply just go logging and find the wood I seek.

Thanks,
Techyon

There is more money in selling raw wood than there is in making furniture.  Shipping is the killer and most BDSM people are cheap as dirt.

Glad I read that.   I also was wondering if there was a market for bondage stuff.  I have not made furniture, but have made custom clamps for some frineds, one double breast clamp, lots of nipple clamps and cbt clamps,  even made a hunbler for one friend.  Now the shipping on these items never ran over 15 dollars.

Thats why I have reorganized and retooled my shop.
I can mass produce both small simple items such as paddles, canes, humblers (I could produce a hundred paddles over a weekend) and even the larger items(approx 3 or 4 over the weekend) such as St. Andrews Cross, Horse's, Wooden Cages  and Stockades.

I'll be able to do this with hardwood (which drives up the cost) that can be stained.
I can also make the same items with MDF (which will keep the cost very low), giving it a painted finish.
So it can be affordable.
And on most of the larger items, I've found a way that allows you to dissassembled and assembled in just a few minutes without loosing the strength of the structure.
I refuse to build stick furniture (2x4's - 2x6's and such)

Oh I couldnt agree more that when someone would have to go buy the Hardwoods that cost would be excruitating.
But in my case there is almost No cost for the lumber.
I own a local tree service, I charge people to remove the tree and all cleanup and in the meantime almost all the wood I remove I either sell back to people as firewood or if the tree was in almost a veneer condition I run it through my sawmill " I have a portable bandsaw sawmill"
For finish grade lumber just plane it down in my cabinetry shop and I've got lumber you could pay up to 45.00 a board ft when I've already charged people to remove the trees. ;-)
Myself, I sell alot of automotive parts on ebay... So I highly understand the painfull shipping costs.
My second income has become custom cars and trucks, then I tinker with the lumber as well.
