OMG do i feel old, Hubby bought me an electric lift chair.  I do love it though, so easy to get in and out of.  This one goes back completely flat so it can be used as a bed too, and unlike most models, the foot rest and back operate independently with separate controls. We needed a new recliner so figured we would get this instead to make things easier after my hip surgery.  Also He will probably be having the same surgery at some point and i may also need a knee and other hip done in the future.  We even figured out how to put my computer up next to it so i can see the screen and put the keyboard and mouse on a lap desk. ( i don't have a laptop)  I feel much better about my recovery now, won't be stuck in bed.  The only drawback is that it moves in super slow motion, so pray there's no emergency while i'm in it.

Aw I do understand how it can make you feel, I really do. Maybe you can try and see it as ' yay we can afford this really cool moving-around-kinda-chair thingie'?

My mom had one of those (if its what I am thinking it is) after she was in the hospital for her lung cancer. It worked really well for her, and made her life a lot easier. It was an attractive piece of furniture, and looked just like a regular recliner. Not like "hospital fiurniture" at all. My dad still has it in their house. Have fun with it. Good luck w/the surgery.

Don't think of it as a lift chair. Think of it as an adjustable play chair. I mean, it goes up, down, forward, back, lays flat........... After all the surgery is done, equip it with leather restraints and a pair of stirrups, and use it for medical or interrogation scenes. Or dress up as astronauts and pretend you are in a slow motion space launch. Have fun!

I have one of those.  It is sitting outside the bottom garage waiting to go to the dump the next time we go.
Most uncomfortable chair you've ever sat in?  I had bought it years ago for my mother, we kept it around when we knew Doug needed back surgery.  Thankfully he didn't need it.
I will pray for the day you no longer need it if it is as comfortable as ours is.

If it is still in working order, please donate it to the VFW or American Legion, for them to give to one who needs it.

Thanks

It is in working order and we thought about that.  HOWEVER, the garage we had it stored in is about 60 feet from the house.  Field mice took it over and I can't be sure no mice took over the chair as well.

We just got some kitties last weekend to patrol the garage for us.  While bait was working it wasn't working good enough.
We have farmland real close by...like a house away.  No getting rid of the mice.
