quote:
I go back and forth on the non-consenual slavery part. I guess the issue is with consent. What exactly is consent? Does one really consent to be a slave, or is it something that is taken away from them? Do I become a slave by consenting (or, begging the collar), or do I become a slave by a man placing his collar around my neck, and removing the choice? I agree that there are gray areas in WIITWD, and I suspect that's what the thread is really getting at. But it astonishes me that folks aren't crystal clear about its being wrong to kidnap people, ship them in chains across the ocean, and sell them--all against their will.
