Status: offline 		fun fun Lumus.  My husband was at Gen con back in 76....lmao I was only 2 at the time....and he taught me when we met and now I'm hooked....e01n's a gamer (though we've not yet been able to play since he's moved in) but this weekend we should be back on track.

Rifts right now...I'm a Mind Meltor Shaydor Spherion.....hehehe

Status: offline 		I haven't done Rifts in years - in part, because most of my players grew up on Dungeons & Dragons, and in part because my fantasy world is created based on the structure of D&D mechanics [which now expand out to other systems with the advent of the d20 open gaming license].  That does sound like fun, though.

Usually I run the game.  Most people refuse to let me play because I drive them insane.   I don't play rules lawyer [well, not in years anyways], I just play very...bizarre...characters.  All withini the realm of possibility, all within the framework of the world we end up playing in - but they're always a little bit twisted.  Like me.

ahhh my most "like me" character....was in a Vampire the Masquerade campaign....I owned a fetish club called "Mortal Fantasies" damned if I wasn't turned and the character (per DM house rules) was made an NPC and I created something new and not so interesting...

I love watching non kink people try to run what the inside of a dungeon is like or what someone inside of a kink club would do....lol every so often I'd have to say "Now Mark...that wouldn't really happen in life...." and he'd just blush a bit. *S*

Status: offline 		I was asked on two separate occasions by two entirely different groups to run a Vampire LARP.

Both fell through before I even had the final storyline draft done.

*nods* I can relate. *shrugs* Mainly I dabble in a bit of everything because no matter what RPG you're into, there's always need for a decent storyline, and I only like telling them more than writing them.

Every RPG has its fringe crowd, some of whom are outright disturbing.  One person I knew kept all of his dice in [no, I'm not fibbing] his belly button.  Ten dice. *cringes at the memory*

Status: offline 		LARP: nothing wrong with LARPing per se... but I've long since passed the point in my life where playing Rock Paper Scissors constantly is a fun way to spend a saturday night. (yeah, lot's of blind random "physical challenge" being said to me... too bad I tended to get saddled with playing elder Nos's and Ventrues by the STs... My typical line: "Oooooh... that'll leave a mark on the carpet. I'll send the cleaning bill to your Primogen...")

Rifts: damn, I haven't played in a long time. I'm halfway tempted to convert "Mr. Crane" from Beyond the Supernatural over to Rifts... heh heh heh, he laughed knowingly...

RPG as a whole: I'm a casual systems developer. I like rules-light play so that I can focus on the story and not the dice rolling. Even did a diceless playtest with some high school buds over dinner at GenCon... went well, until someone figured out that I was doing "Queen of the Demonweb Pits" from the Drow PoV.

Amongst my high school gaming group, I'm pretty much the only one who isn't making money as an industry insider. Shawn is R+D at Wizards, Chris does his own thing that often winds up at WW, Anthony is at Ral Partha, Carlos runs a game shop chain... I'm too open-source for them, even though my latest writing project is working on Anime d20 v2.0...

If that makes your eyes glaze over, you're not alone. Thus, RPGs are a hard limit for me... I WILL squick you, if'n you're not a geeky gal...

Geek Gals: damn, I love 'em. Especially when they're tall and curvy... <sigh>
