late june... no, not really. though christmas in july happens. without getting into a philosophical debate about the pagan holidays vs the christian overlaid holidays, truly, it's about the reasoning for the season. australians do tend to still have the whole traditional roast beef/lamb/whatever joint of meat they like, and roast potatoes, etc. pure madness for the heat, lol, but people love their traditions. it's also traditional these days to indulge in bbq's with lamb, steak, seafood, etc. and salads and cold desserts like trifles or pavlovas, etc. and going to the beach and getting a sunburn, and watching out for sharks and bluebottles (jellyfish) could also be said to be traditional!
