A septoplasty is when you get your septum surgically altered. This case also involved turbinate reduction (I nearly called my doctor "the Turbinator", but thought better of it ). In this case is was to fix a bad genes combined with a sparring incident that together left me with incredibly screwed up sinuses. Recovery is frustrating since you can't bend over or lift heavy things. The real aggravation is that I can't blow my nose (or sneeze through it) for a week and the damn mucus tickles like a mofo every time I breathe. Which means I have to try to get it out with a bloody Q-tip. Nearly constant tickle torture
