Status: offline 		oooh yeah thats another good one, I would rather have the snow than the hurricanes, atleast the snow doesnt take my house away with it... I guess a good point about being snowed in is that the coffee pot is always happy to give up a nice hot cuppa vanilla coffee and since I have a huge movie collection, the DVD player is getting a work out.  We watched " Live Free or Die Hard" last night ( my second time watching it ) its a really good movie *nods*

RS, the news stations down here live for hurricane season....there could be a storm 4000 miles away and they go on full alert.

Status: offline 		Okay. . . there has GOT to be a better way to get saline nasel spray up butterheads nose.  She keeps turning her head when I try, and I do not have a third hand. . .

Any suggestions?

Status: offline 		Aylee, I used a head lock on mine when they were younger. Lay them down on my lap and wrap my arm around their head, if that makes sense Then sit them up as soon as you're done spraying. How's butterhead feeling today? And you for that matter?

She and I are feeling pretty good.  I will try that. . . but the nasel stuff has to be up right to mist.  Sideways it shoots a stream.  I will sit her in my lap though, and hold her head in the crook of my elbow.  Thanks!

Status: offline 		It seems cruel .. but that headlock thing is about all you can do ... Im happy she is feeling better tho ... I was so frustrated doing that I took the nose spray and the um to the Drs once and marched in sat the kid on the Drs lap handed him the spray and said YOU DO IT ....

I thought about it. 

Well, the first few times it was easier, she was not feeling as well, and she did not know what it was.  She has sinced LEARNED.  Last night, I had the other half help me. . . but by myself. . . argh. 

And I have pinned her before for the liquid meds, I realize that it sounds cruel, but I think that it is worse to fail to administer them.  Somethings just HAVE to be done.

Status: offline 		Exactly and if liquid .. you hold the nose ... stuff the liquid in the mouth ... blow in the face and it forces the um to swallow and you quickly release the nose .. again it sounds abusive .. but it happens in a second .. and they dont waste any of the medicine .... and they need it

Status: offline 		Sigh.... if you think that sounds abusive, you should see what I had to do on the ambulance. But it's for their own good and they need it. I still remember needing to hold my oldest down for a spinal tap when he got meningitis. That needle was about 15" from my face. Not something I'd want any other parent to go through...  MissHarlet, I'm personally looking forward to me munchkins being out here soon. Ahhhhh, the sound of freedom and peace and quiet.

Umm. . . I just blow up her nose.  It causes her to shut her mouth and swallow.

It is rough being the mom sometimes.
