Ahhhh, moving! Shows you who your friends really are! I'm with you, Linea. If it's been in a box for months, I probably don't need it, unless it's seasonal. Chuck it! We're still sorting things my grandmother kept for over 50 years because she never threw anything away and she's been dead now for a few years.

yeah, i come from a long line of pack rats...my sister & i argue about who *has* to clean out the aunt & uncle's places when they go...between us, the rule is: you touch it, it's yours...after my mom died & my dad was going through things, i came for a visit & he greeted me at the door with "do you need any Tupperware?" i was a little wary, so he took me to the spare room & showed me a half cord of Tupperware covering one of the beds!! & that was just one of her many hoards....

Heh, as an ex-manager for Tupperware, I've seen horror stories of it where other managers have whole garages and rooms of the stuff. Myself, I had a number of boxes of the stuff but that's because you have to sample in the new stuff, keep certain basics on stock for customers, that sort. Then I ebayed it or gave it away when I was done. Still have some but not half a cord. You touch, you keep, huh?

I have to work on not being a pack rat myself. It's hereditary in my family. I force myself to go through and toss things. I get plain vicious and cruel acording to the monsters.

LRF, i remember the first time that i decided to get rid of things...i had to bring the garbage can inside & clean house into it...i had to cover my eyes & just toss...gawd, was that hard!! my friend's boyfriend told me yesterday that my move would be easy because i have so little stuff...i about fell on the floor laughing because i feel like i have waaaaay too much! of course, cleverly i chose to move from the 2-bedroom 1,000 sq ft home to the 1-bedroom 700 sq ft place....YIKES!!!!

Pssssht... my secret for tossing? Don't look in the box. And don't think about it. If I think, I decide I can use it or need it then I keep it. I have mixed feelings on moving eventually - happy to be getting a life again but nervous because I don't know yet where I'm going. Scary thought that!

Thats one long flight.. I flew from New York took us about 15 hours. Try having ADHD and taking a flight that long. Pure torture.

When I flew into Sydney, it was almost 21 hours.... blecchhhh. And I don't have ADHD. My condolences. Monsters #3 has ADHD and I know what it's like traveling with him in the car.
