Kansas City is the middle.  Trust me, it's in the middle of everything, and in the middle of nowhere.  But we have good BBQ and a decent Ren Faire to help make up for it.

St. Louis is farther from you than KC.  I might be able to manage it though.

It's on the eastern side of the state.  It's appx. 4 - 4.5 hours from me depending on where in the city I'm going.

The halfway point between SLC and KC looks like the Nebraska/Colorado border.  There's definitely nothing there.

The halfway point between SLC and Nashville is Omaha, NE.  That's doable for me.  However, I still think this fall during the Kansas City Renaissance Festival season would be most fun.

Depending on when it is during the fall it MIGHT be doable... I have to go introduce Fox to the parents in September and we have to worry about travel and money during schooltime. But, it MIGHT be possible
And if its for a renn faire that we could actualy dress for, Fox and I would love to since we werent able to dress for this last one

I think if I went to a ren faire I would end up pissing people off, and maybe selling some maille pieces :P

The KC Ren Faire runs from Labor Day to Columbus day, on weekends.  Yes, you can dress up for it.  Lots of people do.  I can relate to traveling during the school year.  I have the same issue.  Hence the reason I'd really like any get together to be within a couple of hours drive of me if not in town.

I'm in agreement on that one.  I've missed the last couple of Renaissance Festivals in KC, and so very much want to go this year anyways (and am determined to be able to dress up for it as well.)

I'm not sure if the smiths who used to do chainmail and other armor are still going.  Vendor booths are pretty expensive since the Hamster King bought out the Art Institute's share and made it entirely for-profit.
