The breakdancing deer: As many of you know, I used to drive big trucks for a living. One time I was leaving Billings, MT on my way to (wherever it was) and the route consisted of two-lane back roads for almost the entire 400-500 miles. MOntana is NOT a highly populated state. The speed limits ( at the time, I don't know about now) were generally 10-20mph higher than elsewhere in the country. ABout halfway through the trip I had to drop from the 80+mph to about 70mph to go through a - well, not even a town.. maybe 3 or 4 houses on either side of the road. Keep in mind it's about 3am. At the far edge of 'town' I noticed huge bushes.. and saw a deer.. it dashed across the road, safely..I thought it was clear, so I sped up again. Just as I was almost to that bush.. out runs another deer. "Oh, shi/....." THUMP damned thing had run between my cab and the trailer. When I looked in the mirror, all I could see was the deer spinning on it's back, legs flailing. Took me about 3 miles to get stopped to check damage on the truck.
