Status: offline 		Yes, it's an Armenian pastry.  There is a bakery here in Portland that makes one that is delightfully sinful!!  I tried another brand when the Middle Eastern market was out of this one, but the heretics used margarine.  Ptooie!!

Status: offline 		There are few sins when one is Norwegian.  The main one is not having enough food on hand to feed everybody, even if they drop in unannounced.  The second big one is baking with something other than butter.  My sister went to a Norwegian festival a few years back & didn't eat any of the baked goods because they were all labelled "low-cholesterol".  Obviously these cooks were diluted with waaaaaay too much American blood!!

Status: offline 		i never bake with margarine or substitutes since moving here. butter is just sooooo much better. and when i cook it's either butter (not often anymore) or olive oil. i've even tried avocado oil. it tends to turn everything green, though.
