Status: offline 		Gwyn.. hit lenscrafters today.. I had a crappy experience with optical outlets... (they sold me bifocals.. I AM NEARSIGHTED ffs!!)  Too bad I didnt realize I'd been fucked non-consensually until I *had* the glasses.

LC got me in at noon (although I'd made an appt for monday.....they had a cxl). The Dr. ROCKED!! 150.00 later I can see again, and I go for the follow up next Sat.

the ONLY issue I had was that it was at INt'l Plaza (which I tend to avoid on principle...)

I hate that I have so much debt from school. I hate that I'm still paying medical bills and fighting with the insurance over medical bills from being pregnant and all that the complications and issues it entailed. I hate that one collections agency is trying to charge me 6% interest which is 14 dollars extra a month for something that I tried to pay off before but the previous company wouldn't work with me. I hate that I now have to write a letter to the credit agency saying well FU I am not paying an additional 70 dollars because I just got the bill from the new credit agency yes partly my fault because I moved and it literally took the post office in OK 3 months to forward my mail from september but christ that's excessive. I hate that I have to break into my moving fund a substantial amount to get this taken care of because I just want to be done with it. I hate that it's dark and grey outside. I hate that my obssessive compulsive side won't just let me relax and now I'm going to worry worry worry.

Generally, interest can be charged on any unpaid bill.  If you still have the copy of the financial policy you signed at the hospital, the very fine print will give you the details. 

You can, however, negotiate with the collection agency.  You're in a better position if you can make an offer in compromise... for instance, if you owe $500, offer to pay $300 lump sum to settle.  If you need to make payments, it's not very likely they'll work with you.

If you use a bonafide debt counseling agency, such as Consumer Credit Counseling, they have agreements with creditors and collection agencies to stop or greatly reduce the accumulation of interest.

Can you pay the principal in one lump sum?  If so, then a phone call offering to do if they zero out the interest might work.  A bird in the hand is worth interest in the bush.  *cough*
