Status: offline 		i hate it...HATE it that i had to do the "tough love" crap with the LoudOne last night. We went into one store and i bought him a tiny little tractor (he LOVES tractors). When we went to the second store he started to act up. I told him if he didn't behave himself he was not getting the toy. He continues to toss things out of the cart, knock any reachable items off the shelves, scream, and act like a little monster. One the way home he asked for the tractor and i reminded him of his behavior. He didn't say anything but when we got into the house he handed Jim my car keys and asked him to get his toy. Jim refused and the fit pitching began.  Those tears nearly broke my heart.

We have to do it as mothers, holly. It ain't easy, it ain't nice but it's necessary. It's better in the long run. Just remember it's for his own good down the road.   Even if it hurts us now almost as much as it hurts them.

Status: offline 		It's ok, Clumsy. You NEED to do that. I've seen too many moms/or grandmas just give the kids what they want to shut them up. Not good. Hold your ground, soon he'll be a joy to take shopping.

I hate that I was in the grocery store last night. I had 20 cans of cat food in my handbasket & was going to the Express line (all the cashier had to do was scan one can & multiply by 20) when I saw a woman in front of me with ALOT more than 10 items on the belt. She had 3 kids in her shopping cart/the store was not that busy so I figured the cashier was free & she told the woman to go thru the Express. They've done that for me before so I thought nothing of it & as I started to put the 1 can on the belt a woman came behind me saying" I KNOW she has more that 10 items (the woman ahead of me)! What is up w/this shit???  I've had a bad day"....blah, blah, blah. This woman was REALLY FUSSING up a storm so the woman ahead of me apologized to her, saying she had the kids & wanted to get out of the store quickly. The woman behind me said, "When you're in a store, you KNOW that the 1st 2 lines are always for Express" You speak English so I KNOW you can read the signs. Don't TELL me you can't read these signs". 
I offered to let the bitchy woman go ahead of me, smiling all the while, trying to diffuse the situation. She apologized to me for being so angry but then she started again.  Saying she had been up all night & STILL had to go home & bake her grandson a birthday cake. I felt REALLY bad for the grandson if he ever had to deal w/grandma's temper!
I also felt badly for the kids & the 1st woman was obviously flusterred & just wanted to get out of there. I told the bitchy woman to blame the cashier for letting this happen by not pointing out that it was the Express line & damn if she didn't start RANTING & RAVING at the cashier. 
I switched lines & then she REALLY went off on all those around her.The store manager came out, asking the woman WHY she was blaming the cashier.  **I ducked my face**  Crazy woman started CUSSING at a man who tried to intervene.  I kept watching her to make sure she didn't reach in her pocket & pull out a gun....she was just that crazy sounding. 

Jilly, Jolly & Zoe, you can shop for your own food next time!

Believe me when I say I know how you feel. I've been down that road & it is NOT easy but you're doing the best thing you can for your furbaby. Are you going to be able to stay in the room w/him when the Dr. gives him the shot? Don't worry about crying, I bawled like a baby each time but was so glad that I was there.


Oh crying isnt a problem, and yes we will both be there. My sister is laying with him in the bed now trying to get the guts to call the vet.  Even his brother knows something is wrong and has been close to him all morning.

God, we were hoping he would at least make it till xmas......fate says otherwise.

Parenting is the hardest job. It is so easy to give in to demanding little ones. I always try to remember that I am trying to raise a conscious and productive person. Doing everything for them and giving in does not prepare them for the outside world or teach them how to work hard, feel good about themselves or be productive members of society. That is what I think of when my um is trying to wear me down. If they say, "I hate you", it means I am doing my job.

Status: offline 		Hugs all furbaby parents!!  Today I heard that my bff's Juana's oldest cat, Pandora, died last night.  Sweet little Pandy, dumb as a box of rocks, but such a wonderful girl!  She had been fading the last few weeks, I knew her days were limited.  I am so glad that I got to give her cuddles last week!

Holls, you are a GOOD MOM!!
