You know, I think you're right.  And I have just decided that the way to make this even more "memorable" for the both of us is to have my two suitcases opened with our "stuff" laying about.  She knows a bit of WIITWD, but I think this will make an impact, so to speak.  LOL...

Yes, that's what I'll do.  I figure I gave her more than fair warning that I'm freaking out and she dismissed it.  Therefore, it is well within my rights to give her a peek into my world. 

Oh, and yes, Linea...  this is the part of me that never gets enough of flatlining people when necessary.  (That was so funny!  "Red, do you ever get tired of shock-and-aweing people/verbally laying the smackdown/etc.?"   "Um, no.  Is that a bad answer, Linea?")

hehehehehe...........


ps - I love that my dad is so smart.  He saw me struggling with the vacuum, the laundry, and a trash can full of pieces of glass.  He asked if there was anything that he could do to help me.  I snapped, "No!  I'm losing my mind."  He casually puts his coat and hat on and says, "I'll be back in a few hours then."

Now, THAT, dear male CMers, is a brilliant man.

Status: offline 		My dad was a trucker, and before the insurance regs made it so that drivers couldn't take riders with them, he used to take me and my mom on long day trips.  I loved being up there, watching the cars and scenery.  I was very young, around age 3, but I still remember that.  I think it's why I love to drive, am a control freak about it with some people, and can't stand that my van is envoking its right to remain silent in the parking lot.  *harumphphph*

Status: offline 		I hate it that All of my Christmas plans are ruined.  I'm not going to either of my Grandmothers' houses this year as was the tradition, Most of my family on my mom's side are fighting.  I can't go to my cousin's house with my dad's side of the family like I was planning on because of having to be home in time to have the UM ready to go with his dad.  I won't get to wake up in the arms of my Sweets like I had planned.  My mom has to work Christmas day.

Things are so differant and changed this year anyways being the first year the ex and I were apart.  Plus, I have no money, no job, and can't even afford to buy my son anything.  I'm just glad that my mom understands, and is willing to put "from Santa" on some of His gifts for me.  I'm really not looking forward to Christmas.

And that's what I hate most.  It's my favorite time of year, and I want to pass out now, and sleep right through it.

Status: offline 		Hugs, Fannie.  I've had Christmases that looked like they would be grim early on, but I made them wonderful.  It may not have turned out like I had "planned", but you know the saying about how to make God laugh, right?  Make plans!  This year, instead of having Christmas all by myself, I decided to completely change the tradition & make sure that some other single women & I get together for dinner & become a new family for Christmas.  Once you get over your disappointment about your plans, perhaps you will think of a way to make this Christmas special.

I understand it all, too.  More than you may know.  It's sad when Thing 2 says, "I know things are really tight, so don't worry about presents for me.  I'm sorry I was born on Christmas day, because that makes it really hard for you."

I hugged her and bawled like a baby after I dropped her off at school when she said that to me.

Come to Altoona.  We can sit around, looking the the tree a 3 year old put together (Including the big patch of ornaments at the bottom that are "Gibson's tree" so that the cat can play with them. But they were so heavy, the whole tree was leaning and we had to prop it up! lol), drinking taquilla, and eating buffalo Chicken dip.  Sounds about right to me! (Also, we have a dart board in the room!!)
