Status: offline 		Win the lottery and I'll sell you my daughter's. He does western pleasure, horsemanship, trail, performance halter and English flat like Hunter Under Saddle. He gets lots of ribbons at high class shows. But now that she's in college she's learning reining and working cow horse which he can't do.
Damn market crashed a month before I could have auctioned him off to several bidders.

The safest thing to do is to free your feet and push back with your hands, trying to slide off the horses rump, since they cannot roll on you when you are behind them.

Ouch. Win the lottery is about right!   What breed is he? I was looking at some draft crosses and the horse I was about to buy was a Perch. Gorgeous black guy, absolutely stunning to look at. And the sweetest disposition I'd seen in a long time.

Woman of many dismounts.....most graceful but a few, less than.

I'd bet every dollar she's asking a quarter horse, given the western pleasure part. With the hunter classes, the newer breeding style.

Edited to add.........just an fyi in case.......a black draft or draft mix (unless it is a Shire, Friesian or Clydesdale) is probably young and will end up a nice dapple gray after a few years.

Status: offline 		My most graceful dismount was when I was on a horse that had the bit in his teeth and tried to sweep me off a branch... I did a tuck and roll worthy of a stuntwoman and came back to my feet!

Status: offline 		  I knew I liked you for a reason, LaT!! When I get a horse up here, either we'll have to find a place out in the country or I'll need a stable. I'd prefer the place out in the country since then I can know what's happening at all times and not worry that the stable won't tell me something.

the worst i had was when the bay i was riding paniced during a thunder crack. He decided to unload all excess baggage....me. We were on a reddog road at the time. OW!!

My sister & I were riding a horse, mine took off galloping toward a LOW tree branch, I ducked, when I sat back up I was bouncing all over the place. Yes, the girly bits left their sanctuary & I bounced all the way back to the stables

The horse I learned to ride on originally (Missy) loved to try to get her rider off in any way she could. She was the trickiest bitch of a horse I've ever ridden. She loved to look you in the eye and deliberately step on your foot. She's also the one who threw me onto a hood of a car.....
