Status: offline 		Well, it's not a real surprise that it's happening, considering our state budget shortfall is 1.6 Billion $$$'s.  Our department may actually be okay on this round, but the new budget comes out in July, and they are predicting even bigger cuts.....but, what will be, will be.  I'm a firm believer in things happening for a reason.  I'll be ok financially for a bit, so I do have something to fall back on.  It's just the waiting that is the hardest thing to deal with......they have been doing this department by department, and they've pretty much hit them all but the Police Department.  They laid off 90 people in one department alone!  We're so short handed right now that we can barely meet the commitments we have.  My biggest fear is that the new Governor will just disband the department altogether......but again, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it......I can't control it, so it's not worth working myself up.  There are lots of places that are actually hiring, it's just that it takes so long to go thru the process....at least 2 months, as many as 6.  Worse comes to worse, I'll go back home, stay with my parents while I'm looking.  At least I won't have to worry about rent!  (I'll hafta hide all my toys tho.......don't want to freak out my mom!)

Status: offline 		Well, according to the grapevine, the Chief was supposed to meet with ADOA staff today, and we'll all find out tomorrow.....I'm gong to call work later and see if there are any rumors floating around......I'm off, but told my supervisor to call me either way and let me know......but the general feeling is that we're safe this time...cross your fingers, it will make looking for a job easier if I'm already employed......gives me a couple of months reprieve.

Status: offline 		Thanks, pure...but it will work out ok......things happen to me for a reason.....and I usually land on my feet.....well, ok, once in a while, my butt...but I get right back up! 

OK, I thought getting a flat screen monitor for my computer would mean that I wouldn't have cats vultching me from the top of it anymore, or trying to catch the cursor or game parts, well, guess what?????  Didn't make a damn bit of difference.....now there's all this ROOM up here that they can walk around in, or just plop their little kitteh butts down right in front of the monitor!!!!  You ever try explaining to one that he makes a better door than he does a window??????
