I hate it when I finish my breakfast & Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog doesn't come running to clean the bowl.

I hate it when I wake up on Valentine's Day to a cmail from a former & it makes me cry.

I hate it when I'm so emotional & I need to go to the hospital to cheer up the Uncle who spent 7 hours in the recovery room yesterday while they tried to get his pain under control.

I hate it that I feel worthless because I cant even get a minimum wage job in this god forsaken piece of real estate called Salt Lake
I have applied at every place within 5 miles of here, including retail stores, fast food, everything, and nobody is hiring

*cry*

Honey.... if you had showed up in a kilt all of the sluts here would have just dropped dead because of the hawtness level being too much. It was a close call as is.

and as for jobs... My poor Soft has been looking since Nov. No luck.

The economy sucks ass. No one is getting jobs hardly.

I will find out on Monday how my process is doing. If it were not for the tummy of roundness I would have been hired already. (dang it) But Hopefully my luck will change. 4 months on no Jobbage sucks ass.

*hugs*

<grins> Lushy I am type II. I got hit with it in 1989 after a year long course of steroids and a genetic predisposition. Even peeling off 125 lbs of steroid weight did nothing. Sigh. My pancreas decided to take a permanent vacation around 2001 and I moved to a pump in 2005. Losing weight and watching carbs doesn't always work..believe me I wish it did. It also depends on the cause of the pancreas deciding to go nyah nyah I quit.

The other thing that Doctors generally fail to tell you until the damage is done...drop your carbs too low and your liver yells "load the cannons boys" and dumps a truck load of glucose into your system. This makes insulin control trickier as you can drop too low and then suddenly spike high...but drop back down after covering the spike and the liver grins and sends out nothing allowing you to go too low again. This Yoyo effect is damaging o many organs. Its the reason I always have glucose tablets in my bag...I can feel great one minute and be looking for my brain the next. It is one reason for the small snack before bed, without it, your liver may do a dump and you wake up to high BG's and tired.

Hint to all those who are pre-or diabetic..if you are going to do pain play..lightly carbo load..then cover with your insulin but use a LITTLE less. Your body will draw on glucose to deal with "repairs" it tries to make with deep tissue impacts and capillary breaks. If I am not careful to do so before an intense dance, I will drop and rebound blowing a blood sugar of 290 and above without having eaten anything for HOURS. Give me pain and reward me with chocolates

i do steer clear of all your wedding talk yet it's hard not to when it's all everyone talks about these days especially in the random stupid section.

thank you, my wedding will run and go smoothly in Vegas.

now if you want to hear about the negativity - perhaps you should look at your guest list and go on from there.

I am sorry you find it grating.. but acting like a child by pointing out the guest list is beyond anything I thought I would see comming from you. ( Or anyone honestly )

As I deplore negativity... so I will just find the iggy button and follow my own advice.

I hope you do well in your endevors.

holy crow.. so thats what the dental stuff was eh? Yikes.

It always hurts more the next day. I would take labor pains over dental pain any day.

The only thing that got me through my dental crap was imagining doing horrible and painful things to the dentists balls.

CBT got me through it all.

2 extractions, 2 crowns, and 3 fillings.

Imagining his pain did it for me.

He thought I was the best ever to sit in his chair.. LOL Little did he know.

poenkitten, my mom's bg does the same thing, bottoms out in the middle of the night and she wakes up with a high bg.  her doc told her the same thing i did when i was in the nursing home this past summer, eat a sandwich with low salt low fat lunch meat.  the sandwich takes longer to digest so the bg doesn't drop, causing the liver to spill.  i never woke up with a high bg when i was there, most mornings i was low.  i do much better since i learned to do that.

as for complications, i've got neuropathy in my feet, which brings on another complication i'd never heard of before i got it, a degenerative condition called charcot's foot.  i'm a 4th generation diabetic in a family with a history of foot trouble, turns out what might have been diagnosed as gout in some family members might really have been charcot's, many of the symptoms are very similar.  i have it bilaterally, which is why i'm in the chair, both ankles are shot.  had it been caught earlier it might have been able to be stabilized before it did all this damage, but with neuropathy, you don't feel pain the same way.  diabetics should really be very careful when it comes to foot care.  when this thing reared its ugly head my a1c levels were at 6.5 or less, so my control was pretty good.  it didn't matter for me, but it can't hurt to really try to keep those levels low. my doc thought i had cellulitis, turns out the bones in my foot were so fragile the metatarsals were breaking.  here's a link if any of you fellow diabetics are interested.  http://www.podiatrychannel.com/charcotfoot/index.shtml

i'd hate to see anyone deal with what i've been thru, i had surgery in july to deal with the collapsed joints, the rocker bottom foot mentioned in the link, and i still haven't healed.  i'm now in hyperbaric chamber therapy to try and help with the healing process and i'm living with a wound vac sucking at the bottom of my foot to try to help draw the wound closed as it heals.  so many of you have weighed in on this diabetic thing, i'd hate for any of you to have things progress to this point.  watch those feet and don't ignore pain folks!!

oh yeah, i hate it when so many doggone nice folks have such a nasty disease!

Samba,

I have a lot of respect for you, and can appreciate the trials that you have gone through last fall as a mom - as I told you privately, I have been in a smiliar situation with my son.  That being said, I felt I needed to chime in here because this is just too much for me to remain silent about.

First of all, an attempt to keep the wedding chatter to its own threads has been made, however, there is spillover here and there.  It's just going to happen.  The election stuff from the fall that's usually kept in Off Topic made its way over here several times and to other parts of the board.  So what?  People had strong emotions and they couldn't be contained to one place.  Same thing here.  Lots of us who went, and even those who didn't, have strong feelings about finally meeting one another in person and all the silliness that we shared.  We talk about it and we keep the memories alive and fresh - it was only a week ago and some of us are still riding kind of high from it all.  I was a bridal consultant for nearly 3 years when I was finishing up my paralegal certification, and I have helped plan at least 200 weddings.  I never heard such extreme love and excitement from the guests regarding meeting other guests the way we have here.  It didn't take away from the ceremony at all, it enhanced it, because this opportunity gave all of us a chance to send this couple off to a loving start.

I'm sure you will have a lovely wedding, of that, I have no doubt.  I'm sure, like any bride-to-be, there are details that you are going to go over and over and over with your friends and event planner.  Greedy and Pirate did the same thing.  The only difference is that their friends and planners were scattered about the country and into Canada, and before the "official" wedding site was created, the only place we had was here.  Sorry if it ruined your surfing the boards to have to deal with a bunch of excited people who have come together for a cause, who had no other central place to go till FourQ, Pirate, and Gimp got the other site up and running.

Now, I distinctly remember about a year ago, all of your posts were centered around getting engaged and all the excitement, and I remember when you were collared, etc.  I was very happy for you, even though it seemed like forever, that's all you had to post about with people on the boards.  You know what?  Who cares what the hell I thought?  It was your moment, and you were happy, so what I thought as I scrolled the boards didn't mean a thing, and I sure as hell wouldn't have written to you on the boards or in private, and told you that it was "too much."  Regardless of how saturated the threads get, this section is P&oRS, so this is where the "children" get to play.  If we've stepped into your part of the sandbox, sorry.  It'll die down, give it time, and if you don't have the patience for that, well, there are other sections to play in till the "shiny, newness" wears off.

I will tell you, though, in my prior experience as a bridal consultant, there WILL always be glitches or miscalculated things that happen along the way.  There's also a lot of emotion as people spend basically 2 or 3 days together, all wanting to do their parts.  So, if anyone got frazzled throughout their stay in FL, who cares?  There was no blood shed - not even in the wreck that totaled the car - we're all still posting, we're all still texting and emailing and calling each other on the phone.  So, if any feathers got ruffled down there, it's no different than any other event, and people got over themselves and had fun.  Therefore, your comment that it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns, basically speaks to any given day, in any given location.  It was though, one of the most incredibly warm, loving, bonding, caring, joyful occasions that I have had the pleasure to be a party to, and I am proud that I was there and got to meet so many I hold in high regard.  If that type of warm fuzzy irks you, I'm sorry... it makes my heart happy, and I'm glad to see people still basking in the afterglow.

Since you weren't there, any "tales" you may have about the weekend would be best sifted through a bullshit screen or discussed with the bride or groom.  If you aren't willing to "put it out there" or "give up the tapes," it does come across as stirring up shit that you can't speak to, from first hand knowledge.  It also reads as bitterness and resentment, which you say isn't the case.  However, it's surely the reflection that's appearing in the mirror.

Sincerely,
Red
