But were the antibiotics prescribed for this bout of illness? Or leftovers from another? What if you need a longer prescription to completely get rid of the germies?

And what medical school did YOU gradiate from, young lady?????

Oy, do i know...... But like i said, i'm doing a LOT better and if this keeps up, there's really no need for me to go in. What's the doc gonna do? Give me more drugs? That aren't needed? One advantage of working on the ambulance and in the clinics is having a fairly clear idea on when i really need to see a doctor.

And when not to....

But the final word is Lumus's and only His.... i know that.

(Or i pay the price......)

Actually, they happen to be an entire run (7 days worth) of sulfa that the doc gave me in case I got another sinus infection. He wanted me to have it on hand so I wouldn't have to come in and pay the fee, since HE at least trusts my knowledge, training and experience.

Since I have the sinus infection......

(speaking of which, I need to take this morning's dose!)

SULFA?????? find a doctor who practices in this century Rain - you should be looking at Biaxin or Zithromax. Sulfa doesn't do shit these days!!!!!

Works just fine for me, YDD, it's Apo-Sulfatrim DS and I tolerate it well with no side effects. I'm kinda a throwback, if it works for me, I use it. My body has some funny reactions to meds so I have to be careful with what I take.... And it doesn't interfere with my other meds for my pancreas tumour.

No, that's banned here.... But with my reactions to a number of drugs, I'm glad I can still get what I have.

Actually, sulfa drugs are still common for treating UTI's, infections in burns, some types of strep, staff infections, and are pretty common still for dealing with open wounds prior to transport from remote areas.

In fact it is still common practice to include sulfa powder in military field medic kits for some countries, since people with allergies to sulfa drugs are rare (in fact if you are allergic to eggs, you may want to stay away from sulfa drugs, eggs contain sulfur.)

*goes and does fast inventory of survival gear, rifles, pistols, ammo, more ammo, ammo, 10 military first aid kits, MRE's, iodine tablets, water purification tablets, 5 military field surgeon kits and the willow trees are doing just fine.....
