Thanks, Holly. I haven't experienced a problem as such with hip/back pain, but I have in my other foot from over compensating when I walk. When they take off the achilles to remove the underlying scar tissue, file down the bony spur that's grown underneath and reattach the tendon, they'll have to keep changing the cast for the duration of the five weeks it'll be on for so that they can slowly lengthen the achilles safely, then it's lots of physio - that's if it's successful, but it's an op that's rarely performed in the UK and I've been told it's a 50/50 risk, but it's one I'm willing to take. If it does go wrong and I am crippled as a result, I'll just get one of those mobility shoppers and have it sooped up, chromed and painted orange... I want to look like a giant mango when out and about! Does one even need a licence for those things?
