Yeah the sacrifices we must make while the government is putting all the big banks and corporations on the doll for starters...IE not  being able to eat out, parents cutting back to keep their children in school and us old folks watching our 401 and other accounts shrinking..

Did you mean to post in the penmanship thread?
If it helps any, in the state i was in, teenagers that were homeschooled could take a GED test after they turned 16, and it still counted as a state high school diploma.

Good morning, everyone.

this girl has added pussywillows to the daffodils and forsythia on the tables.

i'm having a quick bowl of cereal before catching the bus to go to the mall.  The stores won't be open quite yet, but i'll join the mall walkers for a brisk walk around a couple of times.  That should make a mile.

I can think of several reasons. . . here are a couple. . .

Shut door - habit from days of having roommates or short people in the house

Dark - body consciousness

Overall I think that it may be just a turn of phrase.  "Behind closed doors" is a phrase used to denote something that is private.  And once upon a time, and still for some of us, our sexual lives are something that we consider private.  It is not for the rest of the world.

Now. . . whether these people are actually closing the door or not and are turning out the lights or not, is not something that I feel is really any of my business.  I have accepted that I am rather a prude when it comes to this.  I have very definate ideas about public and private.  I have even sent personal messages to a few different posters pointing out that the forum boards are a PUBLIC space and as such conversation should be things that are acceptable in a PUBLIC venue.  Unfortunatly, those polite messages are not always heeded.

I suppose what I am saying is that I think the idea of "kissing and telling," to be pretty horrible.  Discussing explicitly about what the two of you (or more as the case may be) do in private is very disrespectful of your partner(s) and yourself.  It also shows a lack of courtesy to those around you who might hear.

Saying that you enjoy sex in many different places is one thing.  Telling us all about the sex you have had in different places, with different partners, is something different.  But even with the first, there is a time and place.

The word, "intimate" means something.  To take that something and throw it out for public consumption, lessens it.

When I was in sixth-grade, I had crush on a guy, Ryan M (we had been in elementary school togeather as well).  We had some school dances, and I was at one point thinking about asking him to dance with me at the next one.  Until one day in the girls locker-room, after PE class, I heard some girls talking about them.  They were talking about passing him around as a boyfriend.  He was going to be getting a two-week stint or something with each gal, in a certain order.  This disgusted me.  As a sixth-grader, I was appaled.  How could anyone let themselves be a party to such was beyond all rational.  This was not a sweater to be shared, it was a person.  And Ryan was okay with it.  It increased his "status."

So, yes, I do not like locker-room talk, from males or females.  I find it disgusting and de-humanizing for the talker and the talkee.
