ORIGINAL: KyttynTheMynx Right now, it looks like a no. Mom is doing better, but she still needs someone to do her driving after PT, so I have to stick kinda close to home base for a bit. Atleast until she gets stronger. So how is she knee progressing, curious what percent of curve or whatever they measure it by is. Mom was lucky PT came to her so she didnt have to get out, which is good because I didnt have a DL. Mom I think got to a 7 degree straight knee about 3 weeks after surgury. Tell mom to work work work it, not just rely on PT days. Mom was determined and it paid off. The PT person said the more you work it in teh beginning the more successful it will be and can offset any additional surgury. Many need it redone because it wasnt worked well enough. Im sure your Mom is a strong determined woman, after all she is your mom :) My Mom is going great with her new knee. She was at about a 35 the day after surgery, and currently shes at a 85 or so. They took the staples out 2 weeks ago, and with the way shes been keeping cocoa butter on it, you cant tell they were there. The surgery scar looks like its about 3 months old, as opposed to just being a month a 1 day old. She got rid of her walker about 2 weeks in, and now occasionally uses the cane. She exercises her knee everyday. The one problem we are having is getting her thigh muscle to fire back. they had to cut a bit of it, and now its kinda freaking out and not working like normal. Other than waking up during the middle of the surgery, shes had no serious complications, and for that, I am happy. I am just ready to quit being her chauffer. Back seat drivers make me nutty!
