I went over there, against my better judgement because my grandma was being nice when she was texting me, Im there all of 5 minutes before she starts in with how im a lazy prick and cannot play nice enough to keep a job and am too lazy to find and keep a job, all the while both of the harpies are guilt tripping me heavy for not coming over more often, just basically going between telling me what a horrible bastard I am and asking why I dont show up more, like, do I even need to awnser? then, to top it off my grandma hands me a card with 50 bucks and a chocolate cake, like that just erases everything. I decided today that I am done putting up with that bullshit, i does nothing but pisses me off, so come the holidays, I am staying right here with the family that truly loves me and wants me to be happy, my girl and my lil one, fuck everyone else.

Shouldnt that be the Depamphyr reclcoation fund to FL. hint hint

I hope that with remommendations and job posssibilies which are far more frequent here than there could work out since FL seems to be a hot stop.

Asher, i can relate.  my parents, grandmother and siblings don't even know i'm in VA now, my kids know but it will be most likely a few years before i contact my family again.  sometimes you have to make a decision to remove toxic people from your life.

  I can relate totally with this. I found this last weekend that apparently a number of people feel that I "abandoned my parental rights and children" when I left to move to Lumus. It didn't matter that the 2 oldest, grown legal adults at 19 1/2 and 21 in a few days, were supposed to be going to Washington to work, then the oldest was staying in Washington,  the second one was going to go live in San Francisco with her aunt and her partner, and the youngest refused to come to Canada with me so went to live with his dad in California. Somehow, I abandoned them, I'm the big bad mother from hell who left her kids in the lurch and struggling on their own. And the fact that I'd been warning them since they were 15 about having to either be in school or supporting themselves once they were done with high school. And they had months of warning on my move to Canada, not to mention I paid up the utility bills through an extra month so they would have that cushion. Oh noooooooooo, I'm the mean bitch who now no one will talk with from my family.

Fuck 'em..... just fuck 'em.

GT calls them "family if the heart"....i love that term. It's so appropriate.

Lumus is your family.  And Rain, i say this from expereience.  Children have a way of realizing the sacrifices their mother makes for them as they grow older and gain some life experiences of their own.  Always be willing to receive them if they come to you. But if they choose not to, be confident that what you did at the time was the best you could do.  i have seen my mother deal with abuse, drugs, alcoholism, homelessness...many things.  We were apart, at one point, because she decided that my life without her would be more liveable.(she was right) But when i came into my own, i found her. That crazy chick is one of my best friends. Miracles can happen. You're in my prayers, sweetheart.

Status: offline 		My biological family and i have nothing to do with each other. A time comes in your life where you realize DNA is no reason to tolerate abuse.
I wish them all well (with the exception of my parents son. I hope he falls face first into a raw sewage tank) but their issues are not my issues.
My family, whom i adore with all my heart, are not related to me. They are from my late husbands family, Jims family, and friends who mean the world to me.

Asher, Rain and Christine...let it go. Let THEM go. The best revenge is living well.

Status: offline 		I'm very very fortunate that the family I got is the family I would choose.  Not all of them all of the time, of course.  I didn't have a great childhood, but my relationship with all of them in the last few decades has been very good.

I can, however relate to the anger of the offspring.  My son's father removed him from my custody & my life more than 40 years ago.  He took him & disappeared & refused to let me see him.  When my son found me after he became an "adult" I thought that we would be able to have a relationship.  Unfortunately, he blames me for his father's actions.  Says I didn't fight hard enough to find him & steal him back.  I have had to move away from that attitude & behavior, even though it breaks my heart.  But I did get one good one who is the light of my life!!

Status: offline 		I hate it when I wake up and try to get out of bed only to find my spine seems to have fused into on solid, unbendable bone over night.
I hate when I try to call work to tell them I might be a half hour late because of pain and said fused spine, I get no answer and push myself to get to work on time regardless.
I hate when I get to work, I find that my desk chair has been switched and I'm unable to locate mine which has a nice lumbar support pillow.
I hate when I go to speak to the boss about vacation time he tells me we'll need to discuss this later because it may not work for him.
I hate that I'm complaining on this thread about this stuff but I feel better getting it out.

*heads off to find an ice pack for her back*

I hate selfish immature people who use children as pawns. I really dont like the person I am broken up with but still legally married to.  We have nothing in common but the love we have for our child. His well being comes first. Its just a shame when there are those who are so selfish that the damage they do by ripping thier child away from a parent doesnt enter their mind and if it does they dont care.

Status: offline 		I gotta agree with you, Princess Luscious One.  My daughter's fiance has a son by a woman he had a previous relationship with & she uses the child in terrible ways.  He's only 7 & in therapy due to behavioral problems.  It makes me so sad & angry because the person she's hurting the most is her child.

Sweet Asher, I'm sorry that happened. It all sounds very hurtful and mean spirited. Like you said, you have a family at home that loves you and enjoys seeing you happy... remove yourself from the negative ones, you don't need that. We don't choose our family and sometimes they fall short of our expectation. We can't change them just ourselves. We can set boundaries for relationships we have and it sounds like a big giant moat is in order for mom and grandma.
Lots of mushy kisses and hugs for you.... maybe a little nibble on the neck too!

That was 7 hours ago and I'm still feeling weepy and emotionally wrecked. I hate that my Mom (who died 7 years ago) was in my dream alive and healthy but when I woke up she was still dead.
