ORIGINAL: Toppingfrmbottom DavanKael, Making your own toys is not always cheap, because as I said earlier quality supplies are or can be expensive, and so can attaining the knowledge to make quality toys. Guess it depends on what you're talking about as well as your own talent and creativity. I've made 2 professional-quality floggers, one for less than $5 (I got the material for it off of Freecycle) and another for about $12 (JoAnn Fabrics is my friend). Another example: spreader bars. Materials from Home Depot. Pine Dowel Rods (That they will cut for you free of charge to your specified length), stained to a dark finish (Because I like pretty as well as functional equipment), metal screw-in attachment points on each end. I have sets that range from 12" to about 30 or 36" and none cost me more than $5 a piece to make. Chain's cheap, so is rope. Carbiners and clamps for attachment are very useful and also inexpensive. There are lots of inexpensive potentials, one just needs to think outside of the box. Davan
