YAY! I got the coffee brewing!

Thanks Aylee but... the Elderlies have this desire to actually REUSE this damned faucet. They think it can be taken off, repaired, then reinstalled. It probably can but if I can't get the damned thing off the sink, there's no way of telling.

Oh, and sink removal is out as an option. The Elderlies have spoken.

You are aware that you CAN in fact buy new faucets. They sell them at places like Home Depot and plumbing supply stores, and those places that you buy repair parts for your dryer. This is a TRUE story.

Another option, is that "CRL" stuff. It removes calcium, rust, and lime deposits, although I may have the initials wrong. It works well also.

I am aware that a new faucet can be purchased, and I'm pretty sure the Elderlies do as well. They do not wish to pay for a new faucet.

As to the CLR, I have been looking for a couple of ways to turn it into the consistency of a gel. Where it needs to be applied is under the sink; a place where gravity tends to pull liquids off the frustrating bolts with rapid success. The local hardware stores (Home Depot, Lowes, TrueValue, Ace, and 84 Lumber) carry CLR and similar products but only in a liquid form; not as a gel.

Anyway, I have now washed my hands (so to speak) of this project. I admit defeat. I'm leaving the Elderlies to carry on and figure out what they want to do. They know my opinion on what it is I think they should do.

you need to go to walmart, kmart, even a hardware store and purchase a sink wrench....I got mine at walmart (mainstays brand) for 5 bucks....the minute you see the sink wrench (which ALL plumbers have) you will be going, WOW!!!! THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!!THIS EVEN BEATS DISCOVERING MASTURBATION!!!! some better things than clr are lye, get the crystals in the can and mix it heavy in water and soak the fuckin thing in a pail, milkstone remover or milktank washing acid........outside only, and gloves and eyeprotection (some farm supply store). Whink (in the little brown bottle) even pure ammonia is better than clr.

take out the orings and packing before doing so.

Yep, them oldies, only way to get them nuts off is a sink wrench, nothing else will do.
Own one, even if you only use it twice in your life.......its worth it.
